Holmstrom is a solid target as well. He’s a really good puck distributor and a big body. I like him as a target; think he could be a good linemate for Pettersson.
He would definitely help Petey's lack thereof and increase that lines face per 60 back up to the norm

Yeah but it's a 3rd in 2026. Canucks could easily trade the 3rd from this season and something else to get it back. Really shouldn't be an impediment.
Why would Calgary help us lol. I think it's harder than you're leading on. As of right now we can't make offer sheets that involve that pick. So these proposals are about as relevant as predicting our first round opponent this year.

I'm actually incredibly stupid not to have Bourque on there considering I've mentioned him like 5 times in other posts.

And yeah, I don't actually think any of these players will sign an offer sheet.

I actually think there are players looking for more opportunity that would be willing to sign offer sheets. IE, Jack Quinn is an 8th overall pick who is competing with a lot of wingers in Buffalo for ice time, at ES aand PP. Mavrik Bourque wants to be an NHL pivot on a team that has Roope Hintz and Wyatt Johnson signed long-term - there is a ceiling on what he can achieve at Dallas.

Depends on the aav, you throw a aav of like 6-7M to bourque and Dallas will be contemplating hard how much they want to pay their 3C or who they have to trade away to make room.

Calgary has traded with us before, they don’t have some hate for us. the question is more, what is the price

Marco Rossi is a potential offer sheet option if the Canucks don’t have what the Wild are looking for in a trade. It sounds like the Wild may move on from him and assuming that’s the plan they probably do it before he hits RFA, but if he hits RFA then you probably have decent odds to get him if you can get him to sign since Minnesota presumably won’t want to be tied to him for a year.

Mackie Samoskevich might be the offsheet target with the most potential. But the Panthers probably match almost any deal unless some goes $7+ million.

As for Marco Rossi, if Guérin knows he has Nelson in his pocket and someone goes $8.25-9.1 million long term I don’t think he matches. And then he likely parlays the picks to get a top six winger to pair with Kaprizov.

Edit: Mackie Samoskevich is not offersheet eligible.

He won coach of the year just last season and did a great job for us. This offseason the roster was down graded, coach can only work with what he’s got. Our top 6 isn’t very good, our team is pretty soft.

The Jack Adams is joking called "Coach FOR a year" award. 3 out of the 4 before Tocchet were let go within two years of winning the award.

If Brock walks, I wonder if Marchessault could be had for pennies.

He's 34 and signed for 4 more years but his cap hit is only $5.5M per. Rather that than give someone $7/8/9M in FA.

Again, it would have to be at a minimal cost.
Good idea

Samoskevich at that $$ would be a massive risk IMO. his numbers are very similar to what Hoglander and Podkolzin put up in their rookie seasons, and they were both younger at the time.
