I don't think he'd put up 300 points, but I have no doubt he'd be the single season record holder for points in a season. Best player I've ever seen, guy was virtually unstoppable for a chain smoking dude who did the barest of minimums for his conditioning.
Talking about Lemieux just sucks me into looking up content about him.

Here is a video Pronger, probably one of the best defender of his generation talking about how he got destroyed by Lemieux.

lol mammoth? he's a 33 year old center who tops out at 20 goals and 50 points. Then again, 32 year old Granlund got a first, but even Granlund is more productive.
Mammoth return?

20 goals and 50 points is replacement level or so I've been told.

I honestly think they’re going to give Brock something like a 5x$7M take it or leave it and they end up trading him. Too much smoke about them “evaluating” the player to keep at term and $8M.

So Rantonen not signed yet…..

(was just thinking how fast mPetey signed, but know they’re in different categories)
i think carolina always knew they’d be in the same spot they were in w guentzel where it would be a longer process and sell attempt.

sedins, swedish history in vancouver, character of player, familiarity with pillars in organization, player who has been moved in the past & knew he’d be moved all of this year and is excited vs guy who probably didn’t want to move and was surprised. one team his whole career.

i do think this is interesting with boeser though. “take a six year deal” - “we’re being reasonable” vibe

Carolina might regret not trying to get Petey if this guy walks to FA. Imagine how they’ll feel if he winds up here LOL.

Drance was saying today that these teams that were hard after Pettersson like Buffalo, Carolina.. nothing will change in a few months if they still need a player. If they were willing to buy now, how could it get even worse?

Specifically mentioned what youre bringing up - if rantanen isn’t signed, Carolina will be back calling at the draft.

Gonna be tough to get Boeser on a deal that makes sense when we know Minnesota has possibly sixty eight millions waiting for him in july.

But also feels like he wants to stay, all his best bros are here now, comfortable, basically guaranteed top mins etc.

7x7 is probably as high as would be comfortable but also doesn't seem like enough for a ufa in a rising cap...

Ultimately I really wouldn't be surprised to see them roll the dice on Norris for much less cap commitment.

Boeser is pretty consistently one of our best even strength producers and even strength goal scorers. Last year he had that extra half step that makes all his reads work and his game pop and he was our playoff mvp. I sign that guy to 8x8 and don't sweat it. When he doesn't have that half step he's underrated around here, but can be pretty frustrating, and the amount that his game pivots around that little bit of extra speed is concerning.

It really sucks he got cheap shotted. Now we're stuck wondering if he would have been last years Boeser all year, if so that would have been two years in a row and you can be comfortable giving him the big extension. Now it's a way harder decision and basically depends on who is available and what you think you can land over summer.

Carolina has a chance to get him extended if they don’t f*** around and try to lowball him to start and actually ask how much does he want and give him basically that.

What’s the odds of Carolina doing that?

I think Rantanen re-signing with Colorado is a very strong possibility.

Especially if MacKinnon has enough influence. Both he and Rantanen sounded blindsided and I think they would both push for a reunion if possible.

Rantanen has already tipped his cap that he would’ve signed for near the amount that Colorado had offered.

He said he would’ve taken a cut, but the cut was far from what the avs was offering. I think the term was 7 and around 11Ish.

I’d be fine with this just from a comedy and “ha ha Carolina” perspective
Same here, it would be very entertaining.
Can you imagine? Necas didn’t look great to me the other night. Can they afford both?
Yep they could make it work if they wanted to, and I suspect MacKinnon is going to have a say in the matter behind the scenes.
