FifyBedard for Pettersson. The trade is1 for 11 for 3.
The fact that Aatu Raty has been skating better than Pettersson should be a huge concern
These are facts, yes. But they are just facts that evidence his poor performance and not the causation of that performance.Facts
Some people will now go into conniptions over this
I’m curious how Bedard performs with a half decent team. Don’t get me wrong I still think he’s putting up solid numbers as a teenager playing in an absolute dumpster juice.Bedard for Pettersson. The trade is 1 for 1.
With trade winds howling and the GM/POHO publicly calling him out for his -lack of- preparedness, do you really think Pettersson, through his agent, would publicly state his desire to stay with the organization if they were also forcing him to play hurt? We're not allowed to point out Petey is suffering an on-going injury, but by the same standard will also insist Miller was on leave for entirely banal reasons in November that had nothing to do with why they were motivated to trade him (also offering that "Miller was clearly injured, why didn't they just say so?").![]()
without double standards, we'd have no standards at all.
Unless you're Mo Salah! Some players can have electric starts to their career and then flatline or regress. I always wonder if he simply peaked at a young age and is at best a 50-60 point C. It's always a possibility. Joe Juneau and Eric Staal didn't come close to replicating their success in their early years.
I've known pro-soccer players who randomly hit a wall at age 25.
You had me at these are facts, yesThese are facts, yes. But they are just facts that evidence his poor performance and not the causation of that performance.
The team must be playing well if we’re discussing nicknames.
Wonder if we’ll ever see them pull a faceoff trickery or something similar, like the Sedins did when Henrik got kicked off the circle, skated around, and came back to take the faceoff again. Probably not as the three Peteys don’t look like triplets.
Again, I dunno. I get the "motivation" angle, but then again their previous method of motivating Petey was to get the person he likes least on the team to scream at him more. I don't think they're really the authorities on "motivating" guys. Boudreau says with Petey you need to build his confidence up to get more out of him (and visually I think everyone can see there is a lack of confidence in the offensive zone), yet management's tactics seem (on the surface) to exclusively involve tearing him down.I kind of get what you are saying there, and I am definitely not going to assume that everything management says or does makes sense. But it really makes zero sense for them to unreasonably publicly call out their franchise centre who they just signed to a mega deal. They are just going to end up pissing him off if the reasons for his poor play are predominately caused by injury. Plus, they look bad here too, because they are the ones who signed him. If the reason for his poor play was mostly (or even significantly) caused by injury, then I think both management and Pettersson stand to gain by getting that narrative out there. But we have seen nothing like that.
I think Allvin's public remarks were meant to motivate Pettersson. And the fact that they made these remarks almost seems to suggest that they have tried other things to motivate Pettersson that haven't worked.
Whats your source bub- Pettersson started getting tendinitis last year
- played through it during 2nd half and playoffs
- he thought the best action was to rest through the summer and not overly train
-came to camp not in the best shape and of course no leg strength from lack of training ( pissed off Miller)
- cant gain that strength training during the season
- unsure if he is still going through tendinitis
- will need a full off-season of training to get back to where he was
Are we going to be patient enough to let him do that, or are we gonna off-load him and watch him flourish elsewhere.
I think it's more obvious with Boeser because he's frequently out of position. Feels like Suter is always where he should be.For some reason I never felt that Suter is THAT slow. Slower than Boeser.
I don't really disagree with you that a lot of press has just been management knitting ass covers for themselves, nor do I disagree with you that public calling out Pettersson probably isn't the best way to get results. In fact, I agree on both points.Again, I dunno. I get the "motivation" angle, but then again their previous method of motivating Petey was to get the person he likes least on the team to scream at him more. I don't think they're really the authorities on "motivating" guys. Boudreau says with Petey you need to build his confidence up to get more out of him (and visually I think everyone can see there is a lack of confidence in the offensive zone), yet management's tactics seem (on the surface) to exclusively involve tearing him down.
I stand by that most of JR/Allvin's self-aggrandizing media tour appearances are about deflecting accountability. In all their interviews during December/January, both of them tried to place the blame pretty much everywhere except themselves. It's a consistent theme.
"I'm in this post and don't like it,"With trade winds howling and the GM/POHO publicly calling him out for his -lack of- preparedness, do you really think Pettersson, through his agent, would publicly state his desire to stay with the organization if they were also forcing him to play hurt?
here, you can be in this post as well. refer to the image above. like, is the implication Pettersson is lying here? lol. people want to live in alternative reality. You can point it out, but it doesn't make it fact...its speculation.
so you think he's still suffering from tendonitis?
why do you think he would he not still be suffering from tendonitis, jerry? I would love to hear your logic on the matter.so you think he's still suffering from tendonitis?
He's likely still suffering from tendonitis but there's probably also suffering from the fallout of tendonitis and how he treated it over the off season.so you think he's still suffering from tendonitis?
There's ample proof already that they just are that dumb and stupid when it comes to dealing with player injuries. And they are that dumb and stupid when it comes to handling EP in general, case in point asking Miller to get on EP's ass was beyond Benning/average hfboards user levels of stupid.A lot of people keep saying 'If he's hurt, why does the brain trust keep throwing him under the bus' and I suspect the reason is that they don't agree with how he trained around his tendonitis in the off season.
Nah I'm pretty sure you just lacked confidence, didn't like the house you were living in at the time and were trying to con your gym into transferring you to a crossfit centre one town over so you could rep out deadlifts for speed without an audience gawking. When I had tendonitis in my shoulder, I couldn't even do a single pushup. And I had a regular bench press of 225. It's a valid reason for Petey's skating struggles, contrary to the keyboard tough guys
Did you have a NMC that kicks in and you were getting paid $11.6 million to carry the offense of an NHL team? When I had tendonitis in my shoulder, I couldn't even do a single pushup. And I had a regular bench press of 225. It's a valid reason for Petey's skating struggles, contrary to the keyboard tough guys
Bedard offer-sheet next year?Bedard for Pettersson. The trade is 1 for 1.
I bet he didn't have a angry manager at his work publicly calling him out for missing games, I mean gym sessions, while he tried to recover from his injuries.Did you have a NMC that kicks in and you were getting paid $11.6 million to carry the offense of an NHL team?
All you people telling everyone how difficult it is to do anything with tendentious and that it takes years to go away, just prove that he needs to be traded.
Will he be healthy next season? He went through an entire offseason and returned EXACTLY the same as he finished the season.
If he has an injury issue of such magnitude, then I don't want to see what he looks like in his 30's with it. Move him now.
