I hadn’t seen this before. This quote seemed telling:

I play on the edge and it’s so hard for me to relate with people that are just more relaxed because they don’t understand why. But when I talk to people that play on the edge and they’re competitive and a little tempered, they can relate. I’ve had a temper my entire life, that’s not new information.

I expect I guess perfection a lot. I know that’s a little crazy.
I can relate.

But with age, you need to become more self aware and not be so volatile.

Working with or dealing with people is probably the biggest challenge of any job (or sport).

Not everyone is the same.

To be a true leader, there has to be a balance.

It's clear JT has not found that balance. Not yet anyway.

I think that is entirely possible, I don't know it for certain but I think its easy to make up all sorts of scenarios that might have happened...ultimately I don't think there is enough evidence there to determine whether or not Miller is a good or bad teammate.
That's fair if you want to conclude that.

To me, the preponderance of evidence and various circumstances is pretty overwhelming.

Unite JT Miller and Pettersson by firing Bill Rutherford. He's sorta outstaying his welcome at this point. Allvin isn't perfect with the media, but he has been more restrained. I bet Allvin doesn't agree with 100% of Rurherford's decisions but I don't think he can do anything about it - Aquilinis should step in and use Rutherford as an example.
This org has disavowed every heed regarding the media and now they are paying the price. None of this should have reached the outlets and it should have been squashed with a gag bit on TSN with Pettersson and Miller both competing in an egg-on-the-spoon race for lockerroom dominance.

banished from two quality organizations, proceeds to rack up a bunch of a points on a garbage team with no chance of winning anything, until he once again blows it and gets sent away. All while looking like the worst teammate of all time. Ah, the quest for perfection. You see, he's just not like you or me!

There's a lot of people in the world that view others as nothing more than obstacles in their way to success. They step on, tear down and demean others to get to where they want to be. You see it all over the business world, and most of us make 0.009% of what these two make to deal with it.
Full transparency I am this way. If you talked to my coworkers or the people o report to they would say I am hyper focused on the outcome or goal and over look the path or the outcome of my decisions

I don’t tear down anybody but I see people as obstacles that prevent me from reaching my goals and outperform them even if it comes at a significance cost to me, my relationships or my peace but yes most people do tear others down in business.

People are also ignoring other evidence… Like previous conflict with Horvat, or watching the Delia situation, and who knows what we don’t hear. What we do have, points to bullying, that’s listening to the Richardson interview, and looking at the past.

I will admit, we as fans on the outside can’t know for sure, but there is a lot of evidence pointing in that direction.

Posters are, I think, wrongfully referencing the LOA as a response or punishment to Miller’s treatment of Pettersson. I know we are all speculating, but I think the LOA was only tangentially related to the Miller and Petey relationship. It seems to me that coaching told Miller to basically stay in his lane and to stop trying to coach Petey, and they probably told him this a number of times, and then Miller ignored this instruction in the last game before the LOA, and he was benched as a result. It’s then kind of unknown whether blew up at Tochett for the benching, which necessitated the LOA, or perhaps the LOA was just further punishment for his constant failure to follow their instruction to not try to coach Petey.

That’s all just speculation though.

The LOA was likely a punishment for Miller's treatment of Pettersson that came to a head against NSH.

He was playing poorly, Tocchet lets him sit for a shift, then he says something about mistreatment relative to Pettersson, and then is kept off for the 3rd period. After which, he goes back into the room and blows up at Tocchet and calls out Pettersson, which results in being sent home.

It is a response to his treatment of Pettersson, but it comes via the enforcement of a boundary by the coach.

This is why the managers/coach have kept the rift in the media. They don't feel responsible. Further, when Tocchet criticized Miller against LA, Miller chose to get up and sit at the end of the bench away from his team (look familiar?). He was then played by Tocchet despite the exchange. We could infer that it's because Pettersson is not involved here. It's just Miller perceiving a relative mistreatment given how Tocchet has treated Pettersson.

Yeah, clearly the team thinks both Pettersson and Miller are an issue, but there’s basically no chance they prioritize moving Miller the way they have if he was generally viewed as a good teammate. That would be an incredible way to destroy morale.

hm wouldn't work out cap wise but not sure how happy LA is with Byfield and he's an asset who could still hit 1C down the line

I heard that when guys have a bad game, JT chases them around the locker room whipping them with a broken car antenna.

jt miller is the guy you work with who you don't include in any of the group texts
Lucic, Wilson, Kane, Brady, Benn, Matty T etc etc that have that hard abrasive heavy style of play always seem to rub a lot of people the wrong way. I think to play that way you have to be a certain type of person and it’s hard to turn that off when you get off the ice. Seems most bullies on the ice are hard, mean and difficult people.

Somebody like Iginla was the unicorn that could do both.

Reporting has been that he got into a spat with Tocc, and then he was placed on LOA.

It's not some mental health thing or was about JT "getting help". Let's get real. There are actual designations for that in the NHL. It was not mentioned.
Ya, if it was mental health, they would have said that and it would have basically put a pin in the whole thing. To me, the Canucks press release is intentionally vague because they know if they released the reasons then there would be a shit storm.
