The management might’ve fixed the vibez inside the locker room (remains to be seen), but there’s going to be a lot more toxicity outside of it, from the media and some of the fans.

- The media because that’s what media does. They already sound nostalgic about JT time here. Petey will have to shut them up with his on ice play.

- The fans because a lot of us are not happy about how it all transpired and it’s very easy to dunk on Petey now.

Some people are saying O’Connor is a pretty good get, I’d say the Canucks did way better on their trade

i like this deal a lot more than the pens/canucks deal. similar cost for dallas and while ceci isn't as good as pettersson adding granlund would have filled a huge hole in the lineup

What they believe Pettersson is a long term fit neither one of those players would be a long term fit with the Canucks.

Been doing a push - pull - legs routine and incorporating progressive over load. Results are pretty good

Regardless this team is being made worse by the management.

The 2 deals boil down to Miller for Petterson, and Heinen for O'Connor. O'Connor is a ufa this summer so might not be here long, who knows. Heinen returns to Pitt.
Dorrington, Fernstrom for Mancini and taking on the Desharnais contract for next season.

Don't like giving up prospects given how few the Canucks have. There really isn't much help from the prospect group from the 202X's really.

But, this is the hard reality of UFA market. Get some hits like Joshua, Sherwood, Blueger, etc. but will get some misses too. l

Turning back to the trades, I do hope they find someone with the punch that Miller had for our top 6… but those are so rare to find, and UFAs aren’t looking good this off season. Are there any other players across the league that could be acquired?

At least management recognized that the big trees on defense weren’t working out .. I think they were brought in with the vision that those were guys who could survive a long playoff push… they just didn’t pick the right guys who could turn their games around.

It actually boils down to downgrading at C (Miller - Chytil) and upgrading on D. Were you discounting Chytil to zero?

Canucks don’t really have a lot of trade assets. Couple of B-Tier defensive prospects, two blue chippers that I really can’t see them trading, Hoglander, and some draft picks. Biggest asset might their ability to take on a bad contract in order.

Like say a Josh Norris or Dylan Cozens but at minimal cost because you can take on the full salary. Lawson Crouse would be a fun buy-low candidate.

Norris seems like the best bet since I could see Ottawa just wanting to get out of that contract.

Cozens feels like more of a stretch since Buffalo isn’t really in a position to be dealing talent for futures. Also why flipping the Rangers pick for Byram instead was probably a pipe dream.

Mittlestadt is the only other obviously available player they could take a flyer on for futures.

The only other hope is you find a team that has a centre they don’t love that they are ok with dumping in a deal for Boeser. E.g. maybe Boeser and a first gets you Rossi or Hayton if you’re lucky.
