Not saying "goat radio" is my goto source in fact i've never heard of them before today but cant help but chuckle at the smoke lately even after noted insider Cam Robinson set the record straight for us all.

Is there not a world where fans can see this being true though? Is there anyone in that room that you can say %100 is team Petey at this point other than likely Hoggy?

Yeah I have a hard time believing that post. Even if this is true (which I don't think it is) and justified (again, I don't think it is this either), such a thing would be a royal dick move, one that will have dire consequences on the core culture of the team.

The cancer in the room was cut out a couple weeks ago. This is stupid.

What core?

I can only assume its the bevy of Brad Richardson's who have played with him for +/- 19 games.

But seriously, respected veteran Marcus Pettersson maybe has a opinion coming from not a gong show orginization and about to commit 5 years to us?

Jake Debrusk who is core by default, signed for 6 more seasons here, also came from a normal orginization and now has a 60 game sample size of the dysfunction?

Honestly I dont know and dont fully believe it but I watched enough Survivor to know even Teddy Blueger is capable of a blindside.

Canucks are opening up oodles of cap space. Thought I read somewhere that it could be in the range of $27m this off-season......and that was before any upward movement in the NHL salary cap.

So do they have a plan for all that cap room? They could take a serious run at Rantanen, Marner or even both. And although it's 'unlikely' , for the first time in ages, the lack of cap room won't be an excuse for doing nothing.

So they could take a mighty swing when free agent frenzy opens up on July 1st.

I can see a Boeser for Bennett swap being something both teams would entertain. Panthers have a lot of players that can play centre. They are at the same impasse with Bennett as the Canucks seem to be with Boeser.
I love the concept of Sam Bennett—he would be a great JT Miller replacement in the top-six.

But I cannot fathom the Panthers removing their 2C just before the playoffs even if they do have plenty of other center depth. You just don’t subtract something that works so well. Unless you are Colorado, I guess?

I also just don’t see Sam Bennett really wanting to sign in Vancouver long term. He seemed more than happy to be out of a Canadian market (and the media spotlight) when he left Calgary. If not the Panthers, he’ll go to Vegas, or Nashville, or another market where he can have fun and not be scrutinized every night.

18 year olds lack a lot of perspective though. Maybe an older head like Lekkerimaki could persuade him to stay?

Hmmmn

Pettersson knee looks cooked and they committed 8yrs
Demko's knee is cooked and will probably request a trade
Miller gone
Boeser no contract and is probably close to walking
Hronek's shoulder is a mess and they committed 8yrs

Signing secondary players to NMC's and term...Debrusk Lankinen
Overpaying for 4th liners in hopes they will become more than they are....O'Connor Hoglander
Burning prime assets to stay competitive without being a contender

Setting up for a mushy middle situation where they bet the franchise on Pettersson and Hughes one of which is too weak and injury prone and will never get through multiple rounds of playoffs if he can ever even string together consistent regular seasons and the other probably walking to free agency to go play with his brothers in 2 yrs.

All of which being influenced by a crooner President and an owner that wants to be able to back up his price increases and squeak into the playoffs and cling to last year when everything went perfect for 3/4 of a season

That mess
Most of this is just your own baseless speculation. NMCs are extremely commonplace for secondary players to keep their AAV’s down.

Miller being traded has been a positive for the team and they’ve played significantly better since his departure. Hronek is playing fantastic hockey and is locked up on a fair contract that’s going to look like a steal when other players of his caliber start re-signing once the salary cap goes up. Drew O’Connor is a third liner and plays on the PK.

I fail to see in anyway how this team is a mess.

I agree for the most part. The major uncertainty is EP. If he finds himself we are in a pretty good spot. But if he doesn’t we have a pretty heavy boat anchor there.

Allvin inherited this:

LW - Hoglander, Motte, Lammikko, Highmore
C - Miller, Pettersson, Dickinson, Dowling
RW - Boeser, Garland, Chiasson, Bailey, Podkolzin

LD - Ekman-Larsson, Hughes, Hunt, Sautner
RD - Schenn, Poolman, Myers, Burroughs

G - Halak, Martin

Demko and Pearson must have been injured then because I dont see either on the game log.

Just pretend we entered a rebuild Allvin's first day and the roster today actually looks decent and looks like its taking shape.

*edit i forgot Horvat too so booo that gamesheet

The trade deadline is going to suck.

Hughes - injured

Pettersson, Boeser and now Demko all look like they're available, and no matter who we move it would be a mistake

Chytil, Pettersson and O'Connor are all recent additions

Hronek has been injured most of the season and I don't think caught up from such a long injury

Soucy has a NMC

DeBrusk and Lank are new this season

Suter is UFA, inspite the spat of other signings

Blueger, Joshua and Garland are all here

Hoglander still seems to be in the doghouse, despite improved play.

Silovs got buried on the depth chart, and is kind of the third player buying into an arcade game, despite the status he achieved after the playoffs

Miller, Heinen, Brannstrom and I'm sure someone I've forgotten have all been traded away

We're short two thirds, and a second, and a seventh round pick, but have an extra fourth round pick

Our prospect situation is unenviable, but we have Pettersson, Lekkermaki, Willander, Raty, Klimovich, Karlsson, Sasson and Mancini

So, with our available assets, are we selling? Or what? Do we spend prospects and more draft picks to buy? Is Allvin going to try to balance both, or worse yet just stand pat?

That team is dreadful but holy hell that defence!!??

Exclude Hughes and you’ve got a washed up 1 legged overpaid OEL, a reclamation Schenn, a chaos giraffe (has admittedly found more consistency since this timestamp) and the rest are 7th dmen.
I can’t believe how bad that is. It was bad then but looking back it’s even worse 🤣

I forgot Horvat so that game sheet I posted failed me add him to Pearson and Demko but my point still remains.

you missed chytil having a thin skull.

that is absolutely the bad news and worst case downside risk.

the good news is they have done remarkably well with the mess so far.

they have stubbornly managed to squeeze quite a lot out of miller being gone.

Hopefully it's an up year for management.
Year 1: messy
Year 2: good
Year 3: Messy
Year 4: mostly good. TBD

Boeser 50% retained to Minnesota for Heidt, Wallstedt, and a 2nd? Or Bankier and a 1st.

I’d want Heidt as the main piece though.

Boeser %50 retained to Utah for Josh Doan

Or Boeser no retained for Pavel Buchnevich

Its going to be a player to help now unless they already have the hronek/mpetey part lined up with another team.

How likely is Minny going to offload Wallstadt though? With MAF retiring he slots in nicely as the callup or elc backup goalie.

Either prospect would be nice though. Only question is does Bill Guerin hold a grudge over Hughes not going to Boston for the 4 Nations
