What is this bizarre schtick you're on now?

Sorry boss. Reverend has decreed we not talk about UFAs in the *checks notes* "Rumours and Fantasy GM" thread.

I'm not boss, you're boss. I'm just Rev.

Bizarre schtick? Not sure, I'm the same Rev I've always been. Just older and crankier. Sorry all my cranky posts from the 2010-15 era have been scattered to the wind.

But I've always kind of been a bit of a bastard. I'm trying to use that power for good now.

Pretty much every team with the cap space would prioritize him. He is the best player on the market.

Idk if Quinn is much of a draw to him.

He likely would rather go to a real contender, better weather, lower taxes, and less media/fan scrutiny. VAN offers none of that.

Maybe he likes skiing.

On a serious note, he could look great beside a rejuvenated EP and a big body (Joshua?) on the other wing. Then we could use our assets on a 2C.

Delete this if not allowed, or if its too much. Let's say Carter Hart is found not guilty, and that is only if he is found not guilty. Should we give him a chance for signing him kevin's money next season?

I think if we can offer him a contract instead of signing him a PTO like most team would, we will certainly able to sign him for cheap

it depends completely on how the facts come out. there's a big range of facts that could see him acquitted.

i tend to think though that if he is acquitted he'll want to play in a us market with low media and fanbase pressure.

Does Mitch Marner showing up in a championship game change people's mind of him being a UFA target?
not for me. i watched him closely. he made some great plays but he was avoiding physical contact even more than usual if that is possible. there was a sequence late in the final where he hesitated to go get a puck in our corner hoping the dman would do it and then turned it over leading to an extended ozone possession against and several chances. it was his puck all the way but he did not want to get hit to move it.

in fairness to marner i also think mcdavid was playing shy for most of the tournament.

On Halford and Brough this morning, there was rumour of an imminent trade of Boeser to the Panthers? Anyone hear this? Just mentioned to me in passing. I haven't heard any of it.

I don’t even know what Florida would possibly trade.

I don’t see any NHL players they would jettison, and their pick and prospect cupboard is bare.

I can see a Boeser for Bennett swap being something both teams would entertain. Panthers have a lot of players that can play centre. They are at the same impasse with Bennett as the Canucks seem to be with Boeser.

That's actually really good for both sides. I just don't know how much you want to disturb this locker room any more than you have to.

Probably some f***ing idiot reading tea leaves. Didn't hear THAT per se. Definitely not the word 'imminent'.

I feel dirty saying this but Brady Tkachuk....... I just don't wanna start loving a player I am gonna need to hate every 2 years at the Olympics/4 Nations

Brady was impressive

Petey for Brady still available ?
i think trading Petey now would be a big mistake, he is a motivated players who lost his chance to train in this summer due to his injury. We should gamble he will have a big rebound next season.

Here's a rough idea of what I got IF they are able to move out Hoglander and Soucy:

Pettersson, Elias $ 11,600,000
Boeser, Brock $ 8,000,000
DeBrusk, Jake $ 5,500,000
Garland, Conor $ 4,950,000
Chytil, Filip $ 4,437,500
Joshua, Dakota $ 3,250,000
Blueger, Teddy $ 1,800,000
TBD1 $ 5,000,000
Sherwood, Kiefer $ 1,500,000
TBD2 $ 1,000,000
O'Connor, Drew $ 2,500,000
Aman, Nils $ 825,000
Lekkerimaki, Jonathan $ 918,333
Hughes, Quinn $ 7,850,000
Hronek, Filip $ 7,250,000
Pettersson, Marcus $ 5,500,000
TBD3 $ 1,000,000
Myers, Tyler $ 3,000,000
TBD4 $ 1,500,000
Mancini, Victor $ 870,000
Pettersson, Elias $ 838,333
Demko, Thatcher $ 5,000,000
Lankinen, Kevin $ 4,500,000
Ekman-Larsson, Oliver $ 4,766,667
Mikheyev, Ilya $ 712,500
$ 94,068,333
CAP $ 95,500,000
REMAINING $ 1,431,667

Basically$8M for Boeser, $5M for a middle 6 C, $1M for 4th liner, $1.5M for a bottom pair D, $1M for a depth D (you can replace Nils Aman but he's really just a 13th forward plug).

If they aren't able to move Soucy and/or Hoglander then basically that $5M for a middle 6 shrinks to $1M to $3M....
