Buyout Period: June 27th, evening; players without NMCs must be placed on unconditional waivers 24 hours prior (another buyout period opens if a team has a player file for arbitration). This buyout period ends June 30th. 8:00pm.
Team-Elected Arbitration: June 26th, evening
NHL Awards: June 27th
Draft Day 01: June 28th
Draft Day 02: June 29th
Qualifying Offer Date: June 30th
Free Agency Opens: July 1st, 9am PST
Summer Development Camp: July 1st-4th
Player-Elected Arbitration: July 5th
Young Stars Classic Tournament: Sep. 13th-16th

Guentzel to sign with the Rangers.
Tanev to sign in Dallas.
Dillon to sign with the Kings.
Zadorov to go to Toronto.

Canucks will make some low level signings which include Kubalik and Lyubushkin. We will all panic and shit for months before trades go down.

They’ve opened way too much cap space for this to be the outcome. It’s far more likely, unfortunately, they end up with at least one contract we don’t like. Probably at forward.

I would take Stamkos at $6.4M x 3 before i do $8.8M x 7 on Guentzel.
That 2.4 u save could help land a Tanev, Roy , Pesce etc and still have money leftover for maybe a 3C

Stamkos is going to be how Phil Kessel was in Arizona. Guy is a powerplay specialist but a liability 5 on 5 due to his 1.5 KPH footspeed.

So it seems like the Carolina deadline for Guentzel may be day 2, as that's when they would need to know before potentially trading his rights for a mid round pick.

Zadorov not signing might be a blessing in disguise. Rather have 2 capable veterans at 2.5M each on short term contracts rather than having Big Z at 5M+

Need 6 solid Dmen with Juulsen/Freidman as spares or the team will really struggle when injuries occur on the back end especially if 2 regular D are out at the same time, couple forwards out doesn’t quite affect the team the same way, we should solidify the D.

It’s impossible to avoid comparisons to Gillis’ Sundin signing. Would depend entirely on term.
