Allvin said in several interviews the intention was to sign both Z and Lindy but that they were ok if Lindy walked, not that they were ok if Lindy walked.

Are people so shell shocked by the Benning era's horrible asset management that through their rose coloured glasses they can't see when it happens in the new regime.

The trades with a competitor in the same division, no less, strengthened the Canucks for a few months but will strengthen the Flames for a few years at minimum.

Get smart.
I found the bandwagoner who just starting watching hockey this year guys

I think there is a difference between throwing assets into a wishing well vs taking calculated risks in order to better the team. Both Lindholm and Zad were major playoff contributors, and if Demko and Boeser were relatively healthy, we would be further into the playoffs. Our young guys gained some valuable experience, Silovs turned out to be a total gem, and our picture of what the team needs has never been more clear.

Does it suck to lose a bunch of assets this way? Yeah, it does. But it is the cost of cap era competitive hockey while dragging OEL's hockey corpse along.

If this was Dimbo, we would've blown our load and still ended up outside of the playoffs.

Honestly I like Zadorov but not at the price he is gonna get. I could also see him being the type to mail it in once he gets paid. I also found him a bit distracting at times with his antics.
I think everything you say is fair here but also can be picked at just the same. No easy shit here. f*** off eh.

I can understand why Zadorov and his agent want to test the full, open UFA market on July 1st. Always a possibility and even a probability that some team will give him and his client stupid money. And at age 29, this might he his final chance to hit a home-run in free agency.

I suppose there's always a chance he could still double back on the Canucks--but somehow that seems unlikely. With what he brings to the table, he'll be all but impossible to replace.

But that's the risk of expending draft capital to acquire rentals at the trade deadline. Although both Lindholm and Zadorov were acquired a month or so prior to the deadline, they were still only around for 20 games and a total of 13 playoff games.

Need 6 solid Dmen with Juulsen/Freidman as spares or the team will really struggle when injuries occur on the back end especially if 2 regular D are out at the same time, couple forwards out doesn’t quite affect the team the same way, we should solidify the D.

I admit I'd find the idea of Zadina on a show-me deal intriguing, but I agree with Vector's point.

Would like to find more proven guys to play in our top six - and our bottom six additions should be guys that bring things we currently lack.
