Wouldn’t go more than 4x$7.5M like Bobby said.
Thanks bro. I ate carbs in your honour tonight.

Trade Garland talk is Bizzare unless you're advocating for a tear it down style rebuild IMO.

Trade him and you immediately need to go out and get another top-6 forward if you want to compete next year, because that is what he is from a production perspective. Let alone everything else.

Boeser I kind of understand because he's UFA and the cost aspect.

Not sure boeser signs for less than 6 year $8M AAV.

There’s prolly a $56M offer on the table for him on July 1 especially with how weak this UFA class is (Boeser arguably the 5th best forward possibly available) and how much the cap is rising.

Thoughts? I think it’s the best path forward.

No. Everyone's so obsessed about a rebuild all the f***ing time on this site. They missed their chance with Jimbo at the helm. Pettersson will turn it around, Hughes is the best player in franchise history, and Demko, well I could see him getting traded to a team like Columbus. Sillinger + 2nd pls.

If they can't sign Boeser - send him to Ottawa for Norris. They get a top 6 goal scorer and get our of Norris's uncertainty. Trade Soucy for Maccelli - he's shown himself to be a top 4 D man with a mean streak and both he and Maccelli are having a down season. Utah needs steady D and honestly could see them going hard for Rantanen/Marner to build their elite top end.

These are the deals Allvin will have to make in order to change things around - or using the future heavy assets from a Boeser trade to get a top 6 scorer from a bottom 10 team. Otherwise I just don't see a Boeser trade happening with the team clearly wants to go for it this season and retool on the fly. Though they'll need Tocchet to change up the system - how can EVERY player except for Hughes and Lankinen be having a down year? It's ridiculous.

He’s implying he thinks QH is off to play with his brother. Whether that’s irregardless of what happens here, or it’s an assumption based on the end of the road seemingly near for all of Demko, Boeser, EP.. and the likely improbability of replacing the talent on the roster.

Fwiw, while I think there’s zero point overly obsessing about that possibility. It’s boring. I personally buy what Cam’s selling - I mean JR even said it openly.

It’s not about whether they want to rebuild. It’s about if it’s just simply inevitable given the state of the world.

Just put yourself in the GM seat - you have a franchise player in Hughes and Pettersson you've seen be a 100+ point player but he had no off-season and is struggling this year. You NEED to bank on having Pettersson rebound. A rebuild is a guarantee that Hughes is gone and effectively, the GM and front office as well. The hand isn't forced right now and only when it's forced will there be any talks of a serious rebuild. It's forced when Hughes says he's done or Pettersson somehow becomes a Jonathan Cheechoo for good.

Honestly, unless the team can get a 1C for Pettersson - he just can't be traded. With his volatility, it would be a big risk to trade for him and simultaneously, it's a bigger risk for the Canucks to trade him. Demko is replaceable with Lankinen and Demko's injury history. Hughes is irreplaceable.

I just don't see it being a viable option unless, like I said earlier, Hughes says he's done behind closed doors.

I don't see the point in speculating what Quinn Hughes wants to do in two years time. The pressure point summer 2026. Until then, you do everything in your power to build the best team possible. If he won't re-sign, for whatever reason, then you can tear it down to the studs and rebuild. If you're lucky, maybe you come out of it with a Quinn Hughes.

Sooo Rantanen to Canucks when?
Hopefully never, Colorado already took advantage of practically his entire prime. Now some want to pay fifty percent more for diminishing returns.

His non MacKinnon production is likely to be closer to his current Carolina production.
Same with marner, both extremely skilled players but fourteen millions is absurd.

you can't rebuild with lekkerimaki, willander and elias (nils) pettersson on the roster. that's absurd

seriously tho i don't think ownership will ever sanction an actual tear it down rebuild
