Here’s my spreadsheet for upcoming UFAs, each team’s cap situation, and a trade tracker. I update the spreadsheet daily. I use CapFriendly to create this list and AFP Analytics for the contract projections.

Edit: Spreadsheet has been updated with AFP's latest projections and I added a new section for RFAs.

If the Canucks somehow were able to sign most of Zadorov, Dillon, Hakanpaa, and Joshua, then we very likely lead the league in hits next season.

I get the feeling Zadorov is gone to chase a big payday.

I mentioned earlier, I would look at Kiefer Sherwood for a bottom six role - very physical player who stood out in a positive way for me in the Nashville series.

Provides good even-strength bottom-6 production. Downside, if he's your Joshua replacement, is that he doesn't really PK.

hopefully management isn't as fixated on specific players as commentators here. there's lots of talent out there this summer. getting whatever players at the right price is more important than getting the right players at whatever price imo

I like Edmundson a lot but only as a 3rd pairing guy without much term. 3 years would be too much for me.
Often injured. Has never played more than 70 games in any season. William Carrier is always a bottom 6 guy I wanted but he is the same, always injured these days.

Doesn't sound like they are ... they're already leaking through numerous local media they'll be pretty ruthless with the contracts and expect a lot of these guys not to be back. The one wild card for me is Hronek, since he's a trade acquisition and RFA so they can't just let him walk.

I think most of the UFAs are gone-zo.

i hope so. i can't imagine lindholm, zadorov or joshua are going to sign team or cap friendly contracts. they're all taking their last big swings this cycle

Of those three, Joshua is the only one I can see signing a reasonable agreeable deal.

Fans have limited information. We go by who we've seen (Sherwood is a good example), who we know (Canucks' pending UFAs), and who's been rumoured (Brendan Dillon). Last year it was rumoured the Canucks were interested in Ian Cole, Carson Soucy, and Teddy Blueger and ended up getting all those guys. So there's some precedent for treating the Dhaliwal rumours with more than a passing glance.

I really wonder what Chatfield gets this summer. I am seeing some outrageous projections for him.
He has great underlying numbers but from what I understand, he and Orlov get a lot of easy minutes.

I think this mgmt group gives zero f***s about sentimentality.

They have a number for a player and willing to move on if the player and their agent want more.

Expect alot of change to the team this offseason.
It’s refreshing to see this kind of management. No sentimental contracts and no giving out cushy retirement deals. The problem is, you have to be good at drafting and at finding good deals in UFA to succeed. So far they’ve been pretty solid at both.

i'm not saying none of the rumours are true. i think it's pretty plausible 33 year old dillon and his 35m in career earnings would prioritize location over extracting a couple million extra on his (probable) last contract

i just think people who think the canucks MUST sign zadorov or lindholm or tanev or whatever are probably going to be disappointed

(or i'm gonna be disappointed when the canucks overpay for those guys)

I think any of the team's important UFAs would go for a low AAV on a very long term, and that's basically the only way cap teams keep their rosters together. For example, Zadorov at 8x4.75 or something. Of course, this option is available because it's risky. I don't want anyone on this roster but Quinn Hughes on a term like that.

Leave @MS, alone. He's very sick and Monday's loss probably killed him.

I celebrated the Canucks getting eliminated by having our entire family get covid and spending the next 48 hours in bed and/or dealing with very sick very small children while also packing a 103 degree fever myself. It's been grand.

Also all the coughing has re-injured cracked/separated ribs from a mtb crash last month.

Also Arsenal lost the EPL title chase.

I honestly don't even feel like talking about hockey right now. The way that series went was so utterly identical to the 2011 Finals (right down to the BS suspension) and just a total gut punch. I'll probably re-engage just before the draft.

A guy I didn't realize was heading to free agency was Vegas' Mike Amadio. He usually pops when playing against Vancouver and has put up some decent depth scoring numbers. Similar to Danton Heinen, I think he might make a good target if we're looking for some offense from our bottom-six.

On the Abbotsford side, I wonder if the Canucks look at Jujar Khaira. Our forward group in Abby is looking very, very thin heading into next season and is in need of some AHL vets. I think the Canucks have sniffed around him before.

Alex Barre Boulet would be a real get for Abbotsford if he could be enticed to leave Tampa/Syracuse.
