Here’s my spreadsheet for upcoming UFAs, each team’s cap situation, and a trade tracker. I update the spreadsheet daily. I use CapFriendly to create this list and AFP Analytics for the contract projections.

Edit: Spreadsheet has been updated with AFP's latest projections and I added a new section for RFAs.

i think lindholm is the main one they will try to keep. i also expect myers back at a lower cost.

hughes raised hroneks value, if 8mil is the cost you move on, the return is put towards a rhd/top 6 target

guessing van and chi hook up for another cap dump trade. probably a 2nd and mik for a 5th. poolmans ltir to someone like toronto or lightning

toffoli, guentzel, tanev, dillon are some of the obvious ufa targets

I’m fine moving on from hoggy if we can get an equal dman for him. He’s not the guy to pair with petey and he can’t play top line, and the 3 line hopefully stays the same…means he’s odd man out for some trade bait imo
But he's so cap efficient and has lots of room to grow. I dunno, I think we have to keep him and hope he can take additional steps forward in his growth as a player.

Sat was saying on the radio to not expect a lot of names back. They're going to be ruthless. Music to my ears.

There’s no way they can improve the team if they try to retain everyone. I’d try for Lindholm because the 3 Cs down the middle thing was very big for this team. I love Blueger. And I like Joshua.

I also think they should retain Hronek. At the end of the day, even when his production dried up, that pairing still churned good results on both ends.

But I say all that and if they were to bring those four guys back, even with 10% discounts relative to what they’d likely re-sign for & a Mikheyev trade, they would have to go very economical on that top six forward and second pair RD… and I don’t think they should do that. Myers-Soucy got hemmed so they should improve that spot and Pettersson deserves to play with a bonafide scorer.

They’re going to have to fill holes with league minimum players so that Bains, Podkolzin, Raty, Sasson contingent… need to have a good summer. They’ve gassed up those guys. Are they your next Joshua? They might just need one of them to be that already.

He's a winger
That's the joke.

That particular poster went on and on that Lafreniere was a center and when it was proven that it wasn't true, he posted a picture that said "Lafrenier (center) looks on as the goalie makes a save" or something, where it was saying he was centered in the pic. He tried to use that as evidence that he was correct.

I think Lindholm and Z will get mega-deals in UFA, especially after their performances in the playoff, they are both going to be overpaid. People focus too much on a small sample size (13 games in the playoff), and forget that for 2 months from the ASG to end of season, there were major questions about Lindholm's play. Z was inconsistent in the regular season, some good mixed with some bad. If both guys can consistently play at their peak level, they may be worth their asks, but that's very unlikely. Lindholm is 29 turning 30, and had been seeing his production decreased for 2 straight season, this isn't the guy you want to give something like $7.5mx8. Z locked into a $6x6 will be a repeat of the Myers $6x6 we just got out of.

The small sample size kind of applies to Joshua, but in reverse. Joshua had a very good season, he brought size, hits, PK and is the only player that can/should fight to stand up for his teammates. We have almost no size and physicality as is. I'm not saying prioritize that over everything, but I do believe all successful teams has a variety of elements. Also don't forget, as much love as Garland is getting now, there was a period after Joshua's injury where Garland was pretty much invisible. He benefit from Joshua as much as the other way around. Together they make up 2/3 of one of the league's best 3rd line.

I obviously hope we can somehow bring Lindholm, Z and Joshua back, but if we do, that pretty much mean another season of crappy wingers for Petey, and Suter as 1LW. Do we really want to see that again?

Lindholm is the big priority. Checks so many boxes and there is no way to replace him if they let him walk that doesn't come with more pain and less of a player unless Reinhart comes home or we somehow get Guentzel
RsC PK TOP6 PP1 bumper that can play with Pettersson

Zadorov and Joshua i hate to say they need to be ruthless as we cant afford to have #5D and LW3s bogging down the roster with big percentages and turning 30 within short order as the OEL pain is coming as are raises to other more important players during the timelines (Hughes Demko Boeser) that they would want to be signed through. We do need size/strength and physicality but it's less important than top4/5 forwards and top3D which we still need to figure out and upgrade somehow

Hronek they have to drive a tough negotiation and use his RFA status to keep him at the table for a fair deal that works. He can play tough but at the end of the day if he goes to arbitration and then goes to UFA and they force him to a 2nd pair and he struggles again in the 2nd half he could stand to lose a lot of money. 6.8 x 4 should be enough to get it done. Gives him a last chance to sign a big deal at 30 as a UFA

Blueger would be nice as it's good to have strength down the middle and his speed and Pking is welcome. Myers also if he'll provide a team friendly deal. The rest are fungible and Silovs replaces DeSmith

Utah wouldn't want Hronek they have Durzi and Kesselring and the possibility they move Guenther for almost anything is pretty much zero certainly not for a struggling D that wants 8 million

25goals for 1.1 million he goes nowhere
would be ballsy if they trade away Hog…. I guess it wouldn’t be surprising, his value is high considering he makes 1.1 and just potted 25 goals. If you look deeper, his shoot% and lack in hockey sense is concerning and he might not be able to repeat what he just did.

Coyotes have zero reason to trade anyone from their roster, RFA or otherwise, when they have 10 2nd round picks and a boat load of capspace.

I think we need to build our D in a way that works against the aggressive and speedy 2 man forecheck that Preds and the Oilers used against us. Bringing back both Z and Myers wouldn’t solve that.

I don't think we can even get a 1st for him honestly
Yea def won't get back the value we paid to get him. Every team knows the situation. Teams best bet may just be to take him to arbitration and try to sell him at tdl, but management would really have to buy into the idea no matter where we are in standings, he'd have to go. Can't keep losing assets for nothing

A prime age puck moving right hand defenceman that can QB a power play should be able to fetch us a 1st.

But teams will know we’re up against the Cap and not negotiating from a position of strength, however if we can get at least 2 teams bidding for the player than we’ll get a 1st.

every time i play around with this, there's no way they can bring back both of lindholm and hronek.

there's also no way they can bring back joshua and afford a true top six winger

and that's assuming they dump mikheyev

I wonder if Mikheyev will be the "salary going out" cap dump in a larger deal for an impact player. Eg, Hoglander + 1st + Mikheyev for _____. If it's a non-contender, could see them valuing Mikheyev.

Early thoughts on where to go from here:

1. Hronek - They are pot committed to this player imo, even at $8m AAV/8 years. If you're going to chase mid-aged RHDs due to positional value, it makes sense to retain them even at an inflated contract.

2. Lindholm - I've gone back and forth on this one, but ultimately, I do NOT want him re-signed. Even at $7m AAV (bargain for him). Why? Because a winger would provide better relative return and he will take the better wingers away from Pettersson given Tocchet's tendencies. He is a luxury.

3. Zadorov - Even at $5m AAV, walk. The fact that he's rumoured to want $6m AAV saves this team from making a hard decision.

4. Joshua - Re-sign at $3m AAV or walk. Every dollar spent on 3rd line term is a dollar taken away from the top6/top4Dmen.

5. Blueger - If he takes his current AAV on term, re-sign. Else, walk. Great try, but a 4C is a 4C.

6. Myers - Even at a discount in the mid $3m~ range, walk. They have to get a top legit top4 RHD and his money should go toward that solution.

7. Cole - Walk.

8. Friedman - Walk.

9. Juulsen - He's not a UFA/RFA, but I would move him. He's too unreliable.

10. DeSmith - Walk.

11. Silovs - Obvious.

12. Lafferty - Walk.

13. PDG - They probably won't trade him, but they should. They can better his depth slot.

14. Mikheyev - Has to be moved.

Last note: They need to figure out the Garland/Boeser pairing with Miller/Pettersson. If Pettersson-Garland isn't an ongoing concern, then Miller-Garland should be. This way, Pettersson gets Boeser. Given his salary, Garland has to be in the top6 imo.
