'nucks add pivot depth, keep EP

Zib max retained down to 4.25
for
Raty, Juulsen, Forbot + Descharnais

gives EP fellow swede, and top 6 who can slide to 3C
and at 4.25 if it doesn't work out, can retain and sell to basement to meet cap floor

Rs get 3C for now Raty, + stopgap D help
Desch is cooked but we take him as cost of doing biz

--------
btw Byram is legit w/some value, but also has concussion history = risk vs return

Even though they are 6,7,8 level dmen, that’s all the Canucks on depth.

Otherwise it’s not terrible.

Miller for Suzuki?

Why do you think a rebuilding team would be interested in trading their 25yo captain and PPG 1C for a guy that’s turning 32 in a couple months?

I think you’d have a hard time finding many Habs fans that would trade Suzuki for Pettersson let alone Miller.

A world in which said player has a NMC, can choose where he wants to go, has well-documented anger management issues, has already worn out his welcome two other times, and whose relationship with several current teammates is no longer tenable?

If that were the offer, we'd be telling Miller to suck it up because he's not leaving unless he opens up his list. We're not giving him away regardless of what he may or may not have demanded.

Barzal played center until last season, he was only moved off because his best potential linemate is also a center. If you play him at C you probably want a winger on the line comfortable with taking draws though
This is a great way of saying, “he’s better suited as a winger”. If I was moving Pettersson, Barzal wouldn’t be a guy I’d have a lot of interest in.
