To :hawks
LW Nils Hoglander (3 x $3M)
D Vincent Desharnais (1 x $2M)

To :nucks
C/W Phillip Kurashev ($2.25M cap x RFA in offseason)
D TJ Brodie (1 x $3.75M)

Both Kurashev and Hoglander could use change of scenery type moves while Allan and Korchinski situations make vet in Brodie no longer needed (Idea was not to rush kids but Allan especially took NHL spot and has thrived with it) a cheaper #6/7 alternative in Desharnais would be easier to move on from/manage as additional kids are in picture next year for potential roster spots (Also if Hawks move on from say Murphy a guy like Desharnais at RD may fit as stopgap to team until kid establishes themselves)

In this deal Hawks also take longer term cap hit in Hoglander so assume risk if he doesn't turn things around

The team has some chemistry problems, it's obvious. Enough talent on paper but it's not translating to wins. They miss a veteran guy like Ian Cole who probably kept Miller in check. Although Cole was bad vs Edmonton, sometimes a player is worth more for other reasons. I think they should try to reaquire him or maybe trade Deharnais for Luke Schenn, a guy that was well like in Vancouver.

Lol, I’m a Canucks fan. Am I overvaluing Power?

Personally I think Vancouver is immediately a better team with Power and Cozens minus EP40. Maybe I’m on an island there.

I’m willing to move a B prospect and 1st considering those guys are also young and signed. Maybe we need another piece back, but a monster young puckmover and workhorse centre is appealing to me. A skinny metrosexual Swede is increasingly becoming less appealing.

crazy awful hockey assessment, but also, that's a very weird and inaccurate take on pettersson

What’s unknown about EP? His peak season is behind him. What you see with him right now is what you are going to get or worse

lmao... back this up with facts. jfc

This is endlessly fascinating. It’s amusing that you think you’re making a point with this.
WellI’m not sure if you are new to hockey, but first line players don’t play 30+ games and only score 6 points.
I mean, yeah, you can put him on Petterson’s line and say he’s a first liner sure…… technically you are right. However, you can also put me on Petterson’s line and you could be technically right saying I’m a first line player.

Honestly, if he was on the 3rd or 4th line, and he had 6 points, you could at least have an argument that he is being used wrong. However, when you get first line opportunities, but still produce like a 4th liner, then 🤷‍♂️

So, we getting a defenseman from BUF, NYI, NYR, NSH, or PHI?

They are all not doing well but seemingly have a lot of good top 4 dmen that we could use.
