Pretty sure Matthews has more goals than all 4 of the Habs top C's combined. That's my favourite Matthews Goal stat so far

It's weird....it's like they're constantly showing him do these terrible things, like completely fanning on a shot, and then they say things like "Oh! So close. Just wait until he connects on those in the future. Watch out!"

I still chirp my friends that are fans of Winnipeg and Laine in particular. Like the media and many other fans, they would try to compare Matthews to Laine. At first, I could understand a little bit as Laine was putting the puck in the net rapidly.
As the games continued onward, Laine's play without the puck became more evident. He started to become more of a floater as time went on. Laine is a pretty poor player defensively, but his offensive game has also tapered off dramatically while Matthews continues to dominate season after season.
Random tidbit, nothing to do with this game, but it always gives me a chuckle.

Their problem is lot of cap is tied up in bottom 6 junk.
They'll run into issues when re-signing talent. They'll have to do bridge deals or pay 1sts and prospects to take their junk.

This NHL ref fraternity are made of a bunch of corrupt individuals...who would want to gamble on NHL games? But I guess you could make a lot of money betting against the Leafs to get PPs vs their opponents. Best to phase them out and use a couple of AI bots.
