Tampa will have Stamkos on 4-6months of LTIR....

Perhaps if Van retains a bit of salary, the Sedins can go there to that tax free state?

Just spit ballin here.....

Fayne , Oilers 1st in 2017 , Oilers 2nd in 2018 and 1 AHL D of your choice for Hansen and Tanev ,

Fayne is in there for cap reason 1 year left after this season . An AHL D is to even out contracts . 1st and 2nd rd picks are the real money

Edit: AHL D does not include Bear or Jones . They are Jr players

As an Oil fan, I'd give up Jones + 1st just for Tanev (if they took Fayne as well).

Best Trade Chips: Janick Hansen(Please no!), Alexander Edler, Ryan Miller, Jake Virtanen, Erik Gudbranson, Brandon Sutter, Derek Dorsett, Luca Sbisa

Benning bad Idea Trade Chips: Chris Tanev (By far the best value), Ben Hutton.

Quick Summary: The Canucks have some a few mid range pieces to trade, but there 3 most valuable trade pieces are Chris Tanev (Who IMO should NOT be traded for any reason what so ever)
Janick Hansen who has been once again one of our best players this year, and pretty much every year. (IMO The most consistent 3rd Liner in the NHL)
And Ben Hutton who is having a 2nd year sophomore slump, but is a hell of a transition skater.

The Canucks are going to be forced into a rebuild soon, so let's see what kind of values people throw out here for these players.

IMO:
Tanev = 1st Rounder(mid range) + / Or a High end prospect
Janick Hansen = 2nd + 3rd Rounder (Just short of a 1st, but in a weak draft it's possible at the deadline)
Ben Hutton = Similar prospect in a forward Position.
Alex Edler = No clue
Jake Virtanen = Similar prospect who is having a bad start transitioning to the NHL
Ryan Miller = mid round Pick
Why the heck would you even think Hutton would be a trade chip? And why is Baertschi,Granlund ,Burrows not on this list.Baertschi sucks, big time,Granlund is playing way better than him,,might be able to get something back from him.But the whole idea of Benning making any sort of trade, makes me sick.

Well who is left that you think might entice us in the AHL? Don't even start with Reinhart.

We will take Cagguila tho

If the twins didn't have one more year on their deals, that might be a real option.

If we had a second this year I would gladly pay that price for Hansen and Tanev. Sutter and Gudbranson would also interest me. Hansen is probably the only one I wouldn't be willing to trade the Oilers 1st + for.

What about a major blockbuster trade.

To Edmonton:
Gudbranson
Sutter
Tanev
Hansen

To Vancouver
RNH
Eberle
Reinhart
Fayne
2018 2nd
2017 3rd

Vancouver gets 2 young top 6 forwards and 2 bottom pairing d with 2 picks.

Edmonton trades off some skill and picks for help on defense and replacement forward depth.

Maroon - McDavid - Puljujarvi
Lucic - Draisaitl - Kassian
Pouliot - Sutter - Hansen
Lander - Letestu - Pitlick

Sekera - Tanev
Klefbom - Larsson
Nurse - Gudbranson

How about Boeser and Demko too? And our first, you'll want our first too, surely.

Plekanec+mccarron+1st for the sedins 50% retained.
Habs go all in for 2 years with sedin-sedin-Gallagher as a second line , plus it fits perfectly on the cap.

Habs are the only team in the league who makes sense for both of em. Make it happen bergy!!!

Canucks need to finagle a big ticket move for the Sedins.

Retain 50% on one of them. Get a 1st and a slew of prospects coming back with a big cap dump. Just need to find a team willing to leverage the future for a Cup that has a big salary cap dump or the space to take them outright.

The only trouble is figuring out who that team is.

LA and Dustin Brown is an obvious start but there would need to be more salary heading to Van. Plus I'm not sure LA has the youth to throw at Vancouver on top of it.

Woof!! This is terrible for Vancouver. Trade all your actually valuable players for straight up trash. I mean I'm guessing you think the Oilers will have a Top 10 pick as well, we're barely at the quarter-pole of the season, nice to see you've bought in to the Edmonton way. What if that pick ends up 15-20th overall, the Canucks trade two players each likely worth around a late 1st individually (Tanev likely considerably more) for 15th overall, a mid-late 2nd, and a Cap Dump. Give your head a shake.
