I don't like being the circus of the NHL again. It was only two seasons of peace

Though I guess we're second place to the Rangers again, and 30 years after 1994 is kind of hilarious.

Holy overpayment. Power and Pettersson are nearly a wash in value. No WAY we add that much.
You think Power and Peterrsson are a wash then lets do it straight up. Good luck with getting the Canucks in on that.

Pettersson a 100 points 2-way center holds the same value as Power? ok. I am sold.

Well right now EP40 isn't exactly a 100 point center, although he should still be very good, but Power's value should also be good because of his pedigree and good play as a PMD. I think Pettersson is worth more than Power, but that's not the difference for me between Peterka and Rosen.

I swear to God, I'll never understand the narrative of some of us Habs fan who wants to trade Caufield

Why the f*** should we trade Cole Caufield?

For decadeS, scoring goals was an issue for us, and now you'd want to trade one of three guys who actually can do it?

If we trade for Petterson, it's to be able to compete, and for that, we need our first line intact

I like Caufield but we’d have to send salary back to the nucks and it won’t want Gallagher. Id rather have Suzuki & Pettersson down the middle than only 1 scoring line. Next year when Demidov comes over could look like this.

Demidov - Suzuki - Slafkovsky
Dach - Pettersson - Laine
Gallagher - Evans(resign) - Roy
Anderson - Beck - UFA

People Misunderstand the issue with Pettersson. There is no Miller VS Petterson that is causing an irreparable situation.

This is a Canucks Brass vs Petterson issue. It started very early preseason and during the previous season where Tocchet criticized Peteys practice habits and commitment to improving off the ice.

Throughout this year I think they realized how fragile Petey was mentally and completely stepped away from criticizing him. Tocchet has been honest and fair criticizing every player on the roster by name at some point this year except Petey and continuously stops himself in post games when it seems blatantly obvious he wants to say something.

My take from Allvins statement is that their various approaches the Canucks have taken with Petterson to take his off ice improvement more seriously have failed and this is just another tactic to pressure him to get with the program.

Personally I find this really sad because one thing I loved about Petey was his seeming desperation to win at all costs. His unwillingness to take a team friendly discount to make this more of a reality and now this continued criticism of his off ice commitments has tainted my views. When paired with his disappearance in last years playoffs when the stars aligned for the Canucks leaves me apathetic at best to this "superstar".

If this is true, which I don't doubt, it really kills the value EP has.

Means he couldn't survive an intense media market like Montreal or Toronto.

Means he doesn't have the fortitude to play for some of the tougher coaches in the league.

Means that he isn't the type of leader that deserves a 11.6 million per year contract.

Out West
Both he and Miller are forever Deranged Oreo Dolphins.

Canucks GM is hyper-intelligent for taking the opportunity to unofficially shop around the two players to see what kind of deal is out there. If some idiot is willing to drive up a truck full of goodies and overpay, then you have Vancouver's attention. Lose a player to fill up your holes is a risk worth considering.

Not realistic at all , just for fun offer -
Hamilton Mercer Nemec + pick (s).

Is the value even remotely close ? There is not really a fit here at all .
Im guessing VanC need a C coming back and Devils would need to move EP or Hughes to wing then as can’t see them rolling with Nico EP Jack all at C . Long story short , I am just seeing if value is remotely close or if I am way off. Mercer is not a C and can’t see him ever being one . He is much better on the wing. Devils have tried him at C and it didn’t really pan out.
