Still can't decipher what happened with this player.Probably not. Blomstrand probably told him that you can score 30 goals and not get a sniff of the AHL.

Green mixed him up with Brunnstrom, who was dubbed the next Alfredsson, and there was just no reasoning with him after that.He pissed off Travis Green?

Blomstrand was one of several prospects who was inherited by the Benning regime who they basically dumpstered immediately and spent zero effort developing despite having multiple years remaining on ELCs.
Granted, he almost certainly wasn't good enough anyway but it felt almost punitive the way he was left in the ECHL while ripping it up on a Canucks contract and they continually brought in lesser ECHL players on PTOs to fill out the Utica roster. The handling of the group of inherited prospects felt like they were trying to prove how bad the previous regime was ... to no real benefit, and their own detriment.
Do you know what makes him different than nikishin of Carolina who was a 2nd in 2020 that they still have his rights while Gabrielsson’s rights as a 2021 pick expire in June?We lose his rights on June 1 and there's no way we offer him a contract at this point
He seems to be a pretty good Allsvenskan player so maybe he'll be in the SHL next year, but it's too late really.

I understand the North American rights rules but seems a bit inconsistent with Europeans.
