I’m skeptical that the extended break will lead to any sort of dramatic improvement in the Devils’ play……but it’d be cool if it did!

I think getting marino back will.. moving the puck quickly up will be needed after skating by with smith and oh and bahl recently on the bottom pairing.

Bad move to go with Vitek in this one. MacBlack is 5-0-0 with a .962%, 0.98 GAA and 2 shutouts against VAN. Baffling move by Ruff and the staff, who will predictably go with MacBlack against a team he doesn't perform well against.

Coach Toch has always been a pain for the NJD, be it on the ice or behind the benches. He also has a very good lieutenant in Mike Yeo, who has defeated the NJD as recently as last year as the Philthy interim and many times as the HC in St. Loser/Minny. Our coaching staff consists of an old retread and pending golf cart DUI convict. And the in-arena food options are very bad these days and the game day experience at the rock is just absolutely maddening thanks to Harris and his lackeys being so clueless and out of touch.

Fans of the NJD are in no position to make fun of the VAN owners or coaching staff.

I'm sure the NJD players will still be stuck on a beach somewhere in Mexico, where they've been carousing and chumming it up with Timo Meier, who will be a Rag in just a matter of weeks. While VAN players will come in focused and ready to play now that they have a REAL HC in Rick Tocchet, who they've been playing very hard for, unlike BB who was a puzzling hire from the start.

Thanks again Harris/Fitz/Ruff/Bruno/Vitek. There will be plenty of blame to go around tonight when we lose this one.

Haven't seen Quinn Hughes live yet and haven't seen the Canucks live since 2012. Hopefully the Hughes brothers can put on a show but the Devils clearly play better and win the game.

Delia is actually the best goalie they have on their roster right now. Dead ass.

If there's one thing I think Bruce could have done better there it was not giving Spencer Jon Gillies Martin as many games as he did. And handing him an NHL backup spot for this year based on 6 games last year and 9 NHL games before this season at 27 years old was a bad move, but they probably thought they would get 65 games out of Demko and that Martin wouldn't even play as many games over an 82 game schedule as he has through 50 games this year.

At the end of the day, Delia is still an AHL goalie/third string AHL goalie, playing behind I don't know if it's a worse team or a worse coach.

You beat me to it. Spencer Martin is basically Jon Gillies, but possibly even worse. And some fantastic management group actually went into the season with him as their backup because of 6 hot games last year in the NHL. Yet another brilliant move by the Canucks.

That organization really needs to be lambasted to the levels of Ottawa several years back.

They keep hiring bad management people, their owner is terrible and has his grimy hands all over everything. I keep waiting for their ''We're a team'' moment.

Or possibly Francesco Aquillini pulling a Melnyk and doing a piece with one of their scrubbiest players.

I think they mostly suck. It doesn't mean they don't have good players, but they lost one of the good ones last week.

They have Pettersson, Kuzmenko, of course Quinn Hughes. They also have the guy they said they were trade 56 million times, only to turn around and sign him for $56 million.

And folks around here were nonstop down on H&B. Them pretty much not going all George Steinbrenner on everything was a blessing in disgrace all along. When it was time I knew they'd be willing to pay to play and have this franchise back on it's feet. Yeah even my paintece was tested after last season and after the 1st two games this year. I was truly fed up and losing hope and pissed at ownership. Being a fan is an emotional investment and it can get the best of you.
