Realistically you need more than a 6-point pace from even your bottom-line players. Even your Dorsetts, Cracknells, and Etems managed several times his current pace.re: Lazar, he actually looked pretty decent from October-November, and the Joshua/Aman/Lazar line was buzzing in a few games. But while Aman and Joshua have shown flashes since then, Lazar hasn't, and that's why he's probably forever a 4th liner.
for sure. kinda sad that we gave him 3 years, but 1M AAV isn't that bad.Realistically you need more than a 6-point pace from even your bottom-line players. Even your Dorsetts, Cracknells, and Etems managed several times his current pace.

Yeah he has pretty much minimum level skill and IQ at the NHL level. If he can't PK or take faceoffs I don't know if he's even a 12th forward on a contender.
He's not a 12th forward on the 15-16 Canucks, let alone a cup contender.Yeah he has pretty much minimum level skill and IQ at the NHL level. If he can't PK or take faceoffs I don't know if he's even a 12th forward on a contender.

To put how awful Lazar's scoring ability is Andrew Alberts tallied 7 points in 41 games on the 10-11 Canucks. Volpati was on pace to double his output as was the corpse of Peter Schaefer. He should be an AHL soldier and nothing more.
That was basically his career year though, his average isn't as bad as he's been this season but still not somebody who brings enough to be more than a 13th forward type. This year for sure. But he was decent last year on the Bruins, not great, but AFAIK Bruins fans were not unhappy with him as a 4th liner and that's a better team.

Yeah he was really off his game, and it was obvious early. Shocked Lambert didn't pull him after the 2nd goal honestly. But good on the Canucks for taking advantage of it.Sorokin blew chunks tonight compared to his normal play.
Let me speculate....Hot take. Was Horvat the bad blood?
Half sarcasm but the team is jelling... Even if we still are losing. But they are clearly on the up trend.
To be fair to him, he is shooting under 4% right now, which is a little over half of his career mark, plus he is at 6% on ice shooting percentage. He is due for an uptick in points based on regression in those areas. He's not a 12th forward on the 15-16 Canucks, let alone a cup contender.

tough on the walls, tough on the boards, tough in front of our net, tough in front of their net, you don’t fight for pucks you sit.Defend like shit, out score their problems.
Sounds like a winning formula to me!
That plat where Bruce had Lazar out in the last minute only to f*** up a perfect passing play and slam the puck into the goalies pad wil forever ruin Lazar in the eyes of most canucks fans. The guy doesn’t have what it takes to be an every day NHL player, doesn’t score enough or hit enough. To be fair to him, he is shooting under 4% right now, which is a little over half of his career mark, plus he is at 6% on ice shooting percentage. That said, Nils Aman has clearly shown to be the better player this year.

Love it! Moaaaaarrrrr!
Yeah the cap hit can be pretty much fully buried in Abby but to give a guy like that term?for sure. kinda sad that we gave him 3 years, but 1M AAV isn't that bad.
I think we all generally agreed that the length of the deal made it so that if you hit it out of the park with that player, you have cost control, and if you don't, it's not a big deal to bury in the minors. Was always a risk.Yeah the cap hit can be pretty much fully buried in Abby but to give a guy like that term?
Lazar is a morale guy
