Post-Game Talk: CANUCKS 3 Preds 1 (Hoglander, Karlsson, Suter)

Yesterday?

Hog Heinen Desharnais soucy is over ten million dollars next year, that buys atleast two reasonably significant upgrades.

This is why keeping draft picks when you're not a top competitor is so important.

We should be using our valuable cap as you say on reasonably significant upgrades. These paltry fringe players down in the line-up wasting $10 mil in cap are the exact type of spots that should be filled by upcoming prospects without losing much in terms of production and impact. All the while developing and giving your prospects room and proper situation to grow.

Hoglander/Pettersson/Karlsson might've had the most dominant game of any line this season. Multiple shifts with sustained o-zone pressure.

Starting to feel better about a Pettersson resurgence, though obviously we need to see that against teams that aren't SJ or Nashville lol
Why did Tocchet break up that line right after they scored their second goal of the night, early in the 2nd period?

Tocchet was pretty luke-warm in his post-game presser about the win. He could see the same thing we all saw in the second and third periods.
I was unimpressed as well, this game was more about Nashville's ineptness rather than our team being fantastic. Certainly they failed to cash in on what looked to me to be at least half a dozen gigantic rebounds from Demko who otherwise played his first good game in about 5, making big stops and stopping all the easy ones for a change. .969 save % isn't to be sniffed at but the hosannas here regarding Demko make me laugh; Lankinen had a .970 game two games ago (immediately following a viscious stomach bug) and it was 40 posts on this PGT before his name got mentioned. Maybe we can get a 2nd rounder for him at the deadline...

Juulsen experiment just has to end.

Canucks could use some better skaters so they aren't so tired after 20 minutes.

Captain leads by example, he’s putting all the teams heat on him so the others can do their thang.

At least Hughes is producing, which is a plus

Well Demko is a cautionary tale of why that’s a horrible strategy. Dude nearly lost his career. Not really because he’s far too good a goalie, but every redacted on here probably thought so.

Found it interesting on the first PP Miller and Petey almost exclusively passed to each other.

It hurts the PP, but very encouraging sign.
Here you take the shot and rim it around the boards for a odd man break the other way

No you trying to make a move and give the puck away in the middle causing an odd man break the other way

No take the damn shot and rim it around the boards for an odd man break the other way

No try and make a move to the middle and lose the pocket creating an odd man break the other way
