Lets say the Canucks do a 180 and decide this year is not a year they want to go all in. They have a few very intriguing UFA's that they would be smart not to lose for nothing.

There's a good chance alot of these players return but lets just say they get sold...... what are some of the best offers...

Brock Boeser- Right Shot Wing.
40 goal season last year....
Currently playing at a 31 goal pace, was playing around a 35 goal pace before headshot from Jeanot caused him to miss 7 games.
Only 27 yrs old, 6.6 AAV

Pius Suter- Swiss Army Knife. Can play on any 4 lines. Can play Centre or Wing. Kills Penalties
11 goals so far... on pace for 28 goals... Super bargain of 1.6 mil AAV

Kevin Lankinen- If traded, would probably fetch something similar to Mackenzie Blackwood. Lanky has been amazingly good this year. Will probably be looking and deserving a starting job somewhere next year. 29 yrs old.875k AAV. ....14 wins already with a .907 save percentage. Probably unlike that the Canucks trade him as he is a fantastic insurance for Demko. but like i said, lets just see his value if moved.

Forbort and Juulsen. Both big physical 6-7 Dman. Dmen like these always gets traded during the deadline as it never hurts to have depth on the blueline.

I can definitely see the Wild trading for Boeser then extending the hometown boy immidiately. They have tons of cap space next year and can use some goal scoring in their lineup. Similar age to Kaprizov so Boeser fits the window.

I can't imagine Lankinen getting starter money given his overall body of work and his age at this point.

He will get like a 3-4mil by 3 years contract and the team that signs him to that will love it.

This guys has been solid for many years.

They're in a playoff spot. Unless they absolutely fall apart for some reason, they're not going to be selling off anything.

Even if they were...selling off Boeser would be such an enormous change in direction, not just for this year, but for the future of the team. He's a core player, and still fairly young, right in his prime. That's not a guy you just "sell off" on a whim like that. I wasn't a big believer in him for a while, but these days...whichever of JT Miller / Pettersson he plays with, seems to get hot and go on a big point streak. I don't know what his AAV is going to be, and i'm probably not going to like it...but i can't see him being a guy that you just move on from...unless he simply isn't willing to re-sign in Vancouver for some reason.

Pius Suter is really just a mid-pick sort of utility player a team might pick up for depth, but isn't going to pay anything particularly significant for. He's versatile, but not really a difference-maker or the type of player profile that teams go bonkers for at the deadline.

Lankinen has been really good, but still doesn't seem to have real "starter" clout that would carry a major pricetag. His cheap contract might make him really appealing as "insurance" but most real contenders that would be shopping at the deadline already tend to have solid goaltending in place (unless there are injuries).

Canucks will sign Boeser for sure. I can see them looking to re sign Lankinen as well. Suter has been amazing for the Canucks, but he is due a pretty decent raise. With Raty, Sasson and Karlsson close to NHL ready, I'm not sure they bring him back.

Fobort and Juulsen don't have much value, I could see them waking at the end of the year and the Canucks re shuffling the bottom end of their D.

Lankinen likely gets 2-3 million for 2 years.
Suter 2-2.5 million if he keeps it up.
Boeser is a wild card and hard to predict

Too expensive and too long for Lankinen. He will get a pay bump but he hasn’t proven much to get 4 million

Why won't the Canucks extend these guys? They are in a playoff spot so these players aren't going to be moved for some meh futures.
Canucks are capped out. Barring a trade, the $4.5 mill in cap increase will be eaten up by Hoglander's extension and the increase of $2 mill in OEL's dead cap. See if the bump is more than this.

Forbort, Juhlsson, Suter any replacements for them will come in at a very similar number. So, no cap savings there or minimal if that. Boeser is UFA at a $6.65 mill cap hit now. So, expecting an increase by $1.5 mill or so.

But, Van wants to upgrade Dcore. So, can't do that without moving out some contract.

Boeser UFA, Garland 1 more year, Soucy 1 more year, Myers 2 more years at are $6.65, $4.85, $3 mill each. That's the next highest cap hits that are due to come off, along with Demko with 1 more at $5 mill. Now, if they make a bigger move, then that changes things.

That's fair. Still, Vancouver will have a tough time selling a trade for futures to their season ticket holders if they are in the playoff hunt.

I don’t think Boeser goes anywhere, but would certainly float a Carlo headlined offer (if his NTC allows) with some combo of Frederic, Lysell, picks as the plus.

Silovs is a capable NHL backup. I'd trade Lankinen at the deadline to a contender looking for insurance in net, as Lankinen's value will never be higher than it is right now.
