5v5 points this season:

Robinson: 7G, 16 points: Tied for 43rd among all NHL forwards
Martinook: 6G, 12 points: Tied for 97th among all NHL forwards

Aho: 2G, 10 points
Svech: 1G, 7 points
Jarvis: 2G, 5 points

Poor Robinson and Martinook. Having to get dragged down by their linemates.
You better be careful @Boom Boom Apathy, the association of agent athletes might "whistleblower" you if you keep pointing out how their higher paid players are doing.

6, isn’t it? 11 pp + 2 sh + 6 es = 19?
He has 5 points in 5v5 but it's a bit of a nuance. Natural Stat Trick looks at 5v5 as true "5 skaters vs. 5 skaters", which is where lines matter as that's when lines typically stay together. When goalies are pulled, or 4v4 or 3v3 they still get called "Even Strength" points, but most often it's not the same line combinations as with 5v5.

5v5: 5
5v6: 1 (Other team's goalie pulled)
SH: 2
PP: 11

Total: 19

I’m on board with this. Counting ENG in +/- is a pet peeve of mine.

I’ve always had the hardest time getting interested in watching NYI. Even when they’re good I find them boring. A little annoying even. Less annoying than Fran Drescher and Marissa Tomei calling the games would be I suppose….but going two in a row with a Sunday afternoon Cbus followed by NYI has me deep in my mid season doldrums.

Same. I remember when I dug into why Pesce had such a better +/- than Faulk when they played together, a lot of it was situation usage. It wasn't the ONLY thing, but it played a big part.

- Faulk was on the PP where you couldn't get a +, but could get a -
- Pesce was on the PK where you couldn't get a -, but you could get a +
- Faulk was often out there when we pulled the goalie trying to score, which was more likely to end up in a -
- Pesce was often out there when the other team pulled the goalie and we were in more of a defensive mode, which was more likely to end in a +

That season,
Overall Pesce was +35 and Faulk was only +9 overall (difference of 26)
5v5, Pesce was + 19 and Faulk was +12 (difference of 7)

You can see how usage outside of 5v5 really swung the numbers.

Same. Losing aside, the last bit of a games have been kinda blah.

Nice arena aside, the Isles games are kinda slow live, too. In 2025, my son has decided to make the move to NJ instead of LI so I will be seeing more Canes/Devils games. Likely more thrilling, I hope.

Happens to me every year. I put too much energy into the start of the season, then we hit that stretch from Christmas to the end of February which should be really entertaining but instead I’m just bored of lifeless midseason matchups. .

Fast forward to the stretch run please.

Marissa Tomei is criminally underrated.
I love her to be honest. I was referring to her in My Cousin Vinny next to Fran, just their voices for the game.

Never has a more annoying accent come out of a more beautiful woman than in that movie.

We can replace Marissa with Janice from friends if it helps paint the picture better.

Team is boring but I like their announcer set.

Gosh that’s some pretty alarming 5v5 numbers from who should be your top 3 forwards. 5, 5v5 goals for those 3 guys combined. Oof
