Hello 'Canes fans come in peace! Just a observation...with so little space out there during Regular NHL games these Stadium games should have a dimension of 225 X 125. More space to skate and shoot and score and dangle! And the fans get to be closer to rink in these stadiums where seats seem to be 50 yards away in any direction

Recap -
Traffic was awful for some people. We went to byb at 1130, stayed till 130, pulled right out into traffic and were parked with the section 328 lawn east entrance tailgate by like 215.

The truly pregame thing was a fleece. Lines long. Not allowed to carry in even a water bottle, (many discarded bottles at the gate) but you could buy water for $5. Lol.

Merch tents were total shit show. All I wanted was a damn puck. Line was probably 45 min long?

Getting in wasn't bad. We went all the way round to gate 9 and were inside in like 15 min or less. I heard several people say they got in without a ticket, including one guy sitting behind us.

View from 27 row I was freaking great. Thanks again @andy500. These were damn near center ice. Many caps fans in attendance but they were vastly outnumbered by us.
Storm brews were like $13. More fleecing. Hot chocolate was 12 but you got a souviner cup.

We left the stadium as the fireworks went up. 5 - 7 Min to car, out the east main with zero traffic and gone.

After going to races for many years I anticipated the parking shit show with the stupid 2pm thing. That was comical.

Irritated at the Merch tents and rules. No cap for your bottle, and couldn't even buy 2 liquor drinks at a time. The felching was in full force. Great game though.

We just parked at the Westchase lot across from the Ramada. What a shit show.
We ended up in that lot as well, but we still had an epic tailgate. The whole experience was great but the prep and planning for traffic and entry lines was poorly executed. We anticipated it, so we just drank our beers as we waited in line. Section 9 had a great view as well. We saw every goal but the Washington one. But that was more being embroiled in conversation.

All in all it was fantastic, Carolina showed very well (rocking stadium, etc.), and the Canes looked great!

What a day yesterday was. The tailgating vibes were immaculate, the weather was perfect. The vibe around PNC and Carter Finley was giving me happy chills all day. The jerseys looked beautiful, the whole field/ice setup looked freaking awesome. Topped off with a great performance from our boys on the ice. Loved every minute of yesterday, thankful I got to experience that! Memories I won’t forget.

That was a super fun night. Shame it only happens once but it's an event we won't forget.

Only issue I had was the traffic on Edwards Mill. They need a traffic cop at the Wade Ave offramp, badly. Apparently every time the Wade Ave light went green, cars completely blocked the intersection and effectively froze Edwards Mill back up to Duraleigh/Millbrook. I got to the Rudinos at around 1:50 and by 2:30 we had moved like 300 yards before I said f*** it and turned around. Absolute shitshow on that road and it's frankly unacceptable there wasn't any traffic cop presence to keep everything moving.

NC State has hosted events at that place for years and it's well known that traffic is bad, but come on, they're not even trying to make it better given the display I saw yesterday. My group bought 3 parking passes and not a single one was scanned. I feel scammed out of a decent amount of money over that.

I keep seeing the word “perfect”. Rewatched the broadcast and they kept saying the weather couldn’t have been better, the atmosphere couldn’t have been better, the Canes couldn’t have played better. Same thing on local media networks afterward. Traffic and lines notwithstanding, everything was letter perfect.

At the Trinity/Edwards Mill intersection, traffic from THREE different directions (left and right turns off Trinity, plus straight on EM) was forced to merge into a single lane for arena entry. With no cops in sight, it became a situation where people were sitting at a standstill in the intersection, negotiating which of 3 cars had right of way while the lights changed pointlessly.

I’ve never seen a triple-zipper before, and it goes as badly as it sounds. This was 100 feet from the arena entrance, an absurdity that caused gridlock in 3 directions.

An incredible vibe and game all around. One thing I will say is they didn’t do a very good job preparing for the amount of people. Huge lines to get in, an hour long wait for apparel, 500 people waiting to use the bathroom, and people coming up and down the stairs during play so you couldn’t see the ice.

Get ready to pony up..$1025.00

That pricing seems appropriate for an investible collectors item more so than for normal outerwear, no? If I was going to spend >$1k for a jacket like that I'd almost expect it to be numbered with a certificate of authenticity, lol.

And while the jacket is absolutely beautiful from the front, something about the white "CANES" wordmark on the back looks a bit off to me. I'm thinking it would look better if they had used a large red swirl on the back, or a red diagonal CANES wordmark like on the away jerseys, or even the red flags logo they use on the black unis. All irrelevant, as I'm not someone they're targeting as a potential buyer, lol.

I looked at those and thought. Oh that's a 500.00 jacket.

Like anything else, double the price I guess.

It’s funny you say that, I actually made the comment out loud that if they sold them (didn’t expect that it actually happen) it would probably be a $1000 jacket.

It’s a $500 jacket off the top, then throw in the fancy Canes branding, then throw in that it’s limited edition, then throw in the association with Rod at the Stadium Series. This is the kind of thing that gets bought by people who are out there bidding for collectible game-won jerseys and attending Casino Night. Hardest of the hard core.
