The region went all out for the All Star Game and NHL Draft when it was here and has routinely swarmed around the organization when they are in a winning position. Yes, it bandwagons well, but that is not at all unique to this area, it's inherent to sports in general, and I would hope that the front office of an entire league would know that.
Pretty much every hockey city does that. We aren't unique, which is my point.

Based on Waddell's comments, the team sold a record number of tickets and more tickets to season ticket holders than any other fan base. When the team wins we are a good fan base, but a record number of tickets sold so quickly and more than any other fan base is a surprise to me. A good surprise, but still a surprise none the less. At the start of this thread, some of our own fans had concerns about selling it out so the NHL isn't alone in being surprised.

Not sure why you take this as some sort of slight, but whatever, carry on.

A thought: over the last 25 years, the Triangle has grown tremendously and have attracted residents to the area that aren't necessarily college fans but rather enjoy professional sports (it used to be ACC college BB season would impact attendance). Canes improved play plus Raleigh-Durham-Cary CSA growth is contributing to the attendance improveemtn.

Going forward, the Triangle will continue to grow & I think if the Canes don't fall down to current Anaheim levels they will continue to have good attendance.

Sure, I don't disagree with any of that. By far, the improved play is what is contributing to the attendance improvement. Just 5 years ago our attendance stunk. Even 4 years ago, in 18-19, the avg. attendance was 4th worst in the NHL at 14.3K. Win and fans will come. This is not unique to our market.

My point wasn't to say that this isn't a good, growing market, it certainly is and it's why the NHL moved here in the first place.

Latest Weather Channel forecast for the 18th in Raleigh, High 53, low 33. im guessing that would put game time temps in the low 40’s, this is as of 2-6-23

Man - the ice is gonna be small as hell from the uppers at this game lol
Possible, but its probably gonna beat the views of the lower bowl, because those angles are going to be extremely shallow.

That said, there's absolutely no way the views here are worse than the football game I attended at Bristol Motor Speedway. Corner of the stadium, I literally had a building between myself and the field. Players looked like ants, but you could still somewhat follow.

@Borsig

I just got an email that more tickets are available. I haven't looked at the prices, but worth checking if you're still interested.

I've been to bristol countless times back before NASCAR sucked. Some of the seats have posts in front of them LOL. Big ones.

Although, if the Birds win this weekend, you'll be able to find my by finding the drunk, obnoxious Eagles fan still on a celebratory bender from the previous weekend

I may have a line on tickets and be able to make it. There's a tailgate thing right? Is that part of this?
There will be tailgating, but I don't think there is any organized tailgate activity planned. I think it is a "to each their own" kind of thing.

The NHL is having a pre-game thing in the PNC East parking lot. I imagine something along the lines of the Canes pre-game before playoff games...

Stadium Series HQ

Truly PreGame Zone
The Truly PreGame Zone will be open to all fans from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and is the official tailgating location of the Stadium Series. The area will be located in the Arena East Parking Lot and is free and open to any person with a ticket to the game.
