Honestly in hindsight should have had the interview taped and Jost for the intermission. But not expecting this level of blow out either

They plan these things out well in advance. Slavin was the bench interview during warm-ups because Jarvis was interviewing on Sportsnet at the same time. So the first opportunity we had to interview Jarvis was the first intermission, and that decision needs to be made around the 10 minute mark of the period.

Better get used to it. When we lose, we really lose. Remember that 8-1 loss to the kings on jwillly night? I went to that shit and it was the last time I drove 3.5 hours for a game because I don't trust this team to not take a shit on me when I spend 500 bucks to show up.

We act like we're a good team, but frankly right now we're the Isles from the last few seasons.

We also lost on staal night. I don't bother right now until we ice a non shit roster.

Burns is shit. Half the team is shit.

Meh, he’s the elder statesman of the room and everyone loves him. No need to disrespect him to that level.

There’s a LOT of room between waiving a guy and giving him top pair minutes next to Slavin. He’s playing 21:21 a night, second on the team only to Slavin who’s playing 17 seconds more.

There’s just no need at 40 for him to be doing that.
I guess you can keep him for locker room purposes if you truly feel the need, but I don’t get why we’re still acting like his poor play is due to him getting too much ice time at this point.

The man just made a super brain dead play 3 min into this game that lead to the first goal and set the tone of the game. This is after getting a full two week break of not playing any hockey at all.

These types of mistakes have pretty much become the norm for him this year. He’s just not a very good player anymore. Father Time got a hold of him last year and Rod for whatever reason just refuses to acknowledge it.

At some point you’ve gotta stop letting Rod hurt the team and take control. He seems to be increasingly getting more incapable of getting over his loyalty trait even when it’s to the detriment of the team.

I mean and to top it all off by throwing him out there to quarterback the PP after how all that went just felt like a slap in the face.

Thanks for the insights

I’m not acting like that. I’m saying he’s been bad. So give him less ice time. 25% less of these mistakes happen with 25% less ice time just by definition. Then, consider you’re taking him off what is supposed to be your top pairing, now he’s playing against 3rd and 4th liners from the 3rd pairing, things look a lot better.

As much as I hate it, Rod reminds me a lot of Andy Reid when he was in Philly. Great, excellent head coach but had his deficiencies that kept him from reaching the top of the mountain that he was either incapable of or unwilling to fix until he was fired and it forced a career introspective on how it got to that point.

Burns has got to be gone this summer if not sooner.

Rod can’t help himself.

I can’t imagine they are going to find a taker for Burns with his play right now. Add in that Burns can only be traded to 3 teams per his contract and it gets even harder.

Have to move him down to 3rd pairing or start playing 7d and make him a PP specialist.

Ah yes, the career introspective of getting Patrik Mahomes. Thats all Rod needs.
