Amazing what confidence can do for a guy hey? Let Rod know that. Instead he’s obsessed with Drury and his faceoff wins.
Yeah, I just don't see it with the massive body of work we've seen from the guy versus a couple decent games. He seems like he was developed in a top secret government facility to be the definition of a meh player. He's fine. But he doesn't fit what we need in that 2C position and he sure as hell isn't above a demotion at times. And as much as his defenders babble on about him being demoted at times, he's spent like 65 percent of his time with top six quality linemates. And as has been pointed out many times, he was kinda a passenger on those good lines even when they produced. He's possibly a slightly better player than Drury but playing either in the top six is just the hand we have to play right now. They're both 3rd line quality at best.

So happy for KK. That is why you keep KK on line 2 and not demote him with any bad period or shift he may have Rod. He has played awesome the last 2 games for sure.

And another thing Rod…..Drury is a 4th line player. Period. Full stop.
I'm probably Kotkaniemis biggest detractor but I have to give him props for showing up past the 40 game mark.

i love me some kk, probably more than most, and it is maddening seeing the occasional flashes but no consistency. i stubbornly hold out hope that he will figure out his body like a great dane puppy growing into his paws. i'm not asking for a tage-like explosion, just a tage-like 'putting it together' to be the player he can be. even it that tops out lower than his draft pedigree, he can still be a really really useful guy.

of course, just as i start to go limp on the whole thing i see something like the shot on his first goal last night and the refractory period ends.

he reminds me of lindholm as a cane. not quite as good, but with both you can/could tell there is more there.

He's also, frustratingly, one of the only guys that really seems to stand up regularly for his teammates...for a team that's Charmin-soft that would hurt to lose. Can't he just figure out how to be a Winger dammit?

Line 2 looked a little like they did at the season's start. Please let them be for a few games before placing Perfect Cane there again.

Necas often says he plays his best hockey the second half of the year which would be fabulous for the Canes as he's currently, #10 in scoring and #7 in assists in the league.
Despite going on a cold streak that saw him put up only 17 pts in his last 25 games

I think he would have had, at least, a few more assists and possibly, goals, had Gostisbehere not been injured and missed so many games during that time, too. They seemed to help each other out quite a bit. Svechy, also, just missed finishing a few beauties from Necas during that time, too.
