6G/0A with a 25% SPCT suggests that we should definitely temper our expectations, but riding the wave is fun, until it isn't.

Necas SPCT is almost 30% by the way.

Stay hot, boys!
True, but throughout his career, Roslovic had 86G and 141A so he's assisted more than he's scored goals. So while the goal scoring will not sustain at this pace, neither will the lack of assists.

2012-13 Jiri Tlusty. You play on a line with 2 guys who both draw a ton of defensive attention, if you know the right place to be, good things can happen.
And you can hit your spot when you get the opportunity. We have seen plenty of players over the years who know the right place to be, can get there, but cannot seem to finish the opportunity.

I don't know if it lasts, but Roslovic is getting his shot on net and often putting it on net in difficult spots to save. Between him and Gostisbehere, I feel like the % of shots missing the net should be down this year vs recent years.

Edit: and my feelings are incorrect. Went to MoneyPuck to look at "% of Unblocked Shot Attempts For that Miss Net" in all situations under RBA.

24-25: 34.4%
23-24: 34.22%
22-23: 32.5%
21-22: 29.59%
20-21: 28.33%
19-20: 27.44%

So the missed shots are just as high as last year so far, which was the highest % under RBA.

Career high in goals is 22. But his second best season is 12 (granted, 12 came in the 56 game post-COVID season and he only played 48 of those games).

But yeah, career year incoming already more than likely. The referendum on the Borg's offseason is going to be fun to watch unfold this year (though, when we lose in the second round, everyone will come out and say it was because we let Guentzel go).

100%. We made such great moneypucking (so far), that fans will also say we get gipped and will suck next year if we don't re-up Roslovic and Robinson to long deals. It's the cost of success.

I'm so confused at this instant success
hopefully he is our Sam Reinhart or Carter Verhaeghe type where it's just a perfect fit and not a mere hot stretch

Staal's misses alone this year are probably half that number

There’s not going to be much room up front next year if they re-up both Roslovic and Robinson. All of the below are at least signed through the 25-26 season:

Svechnikov-Aho-xxx
xxx-Kotkaniemi-Necas
Martinook-Staal-Jarvis
Carrier-Drury-Blake

If they filled both the xxx spots with the guys currently filling them (Roslovic and Robinson), there’s no room for them to use their cap space for what we all expect them to - the acquisition of another scorer.

Then you have Unger Sorum and Nadeau perhaps making a push for roster spots next year too.

All that said, I imagine we see won’t see both Robinson and Roslovic back, but stranger things have happened.

I suppose you could see them maybe package one of Kotkaniemi or Drury with futures to upgrade the 2nd line C spot for the long-term. But for now, no changes necessary, and I’d imagine Roslovic would be the guy they end up keeping, provided he doesn’t turn back into a pumpkin anytime soon. Robinson’s spot is the one that needs upgrading, imho. As well as he’s played, I don’t think he’s capable of holding down that 2nd line LW spot all season.

So far, its like Tulsky was able to recreate a bit of the 2005-06 Canes magic in the sense that absolutely nobody expected the team to be good, and suddenly overnight they were a complete powerhouse.

If this is who he is for us, and he keeps this up through the season and into the playoffs (especially if he and Necas can each keep it up), this arguably could be the best team in franchise history. Which is insane because everyone, including Brindy, expected us to take a step back when asked over the summer.
