From a technical standpoint, I really like the way Kochetkov handled that half-poke check a few minutes ago. It takes quick hands to pull it off, but he caught the stickhandler in between moves without really moving his blocker out of position. He turns the blocker so it covers a little less space, but it’s still in position as a last resort if he misses the puck.
It’s really rare to see goalies doing stuff like this in the league any more. Personally I think the way he handled that was technically superior to the “correct” blocker positioning which gives slightly more coverage but lets the skater do whatever he wants.
