Yeah, he's the perfect model for how Svech should play. Hopefully he can teach Svech some of his tricks.

He seems like the kind of guy that when he retires, there will be a narrative about how playing with such-and-such veteran Russian winger mentored him and really helped him turn around his career by working on the things that held him back.

The question is whether that happens because of Carolina bringing someone in to be that mentor, or because they send him somewhere else to find it.

He’s lost some of his… I don’t know… energy over the past year or so. Spends a lot of time just skating back and forth without doing a whole lot, and a lot of plays die on his stick when he tries to go through defenders. Statistically it’s only a small drop-off, but he doesn’t have the same presence on the ice that he used to.
