One year I witnessed Stevens take out 2 of our forwards in consecutive games. That guy was a BEAST!

I remember when that perv was exposed, this song was banned from being played everywhere.
But after it was discovered that he wasn't going to be paid any royalties for it(or something to that effect), I think that's when it was used again.
(I think that's what happened, though I could be wrong)
Anyway, I have no issue with that Goal-Song, nor do I have any issue with the "You Suck" chant along with it. It's become such a staple that really....Everyone's used to it(or rather "numb" to it. lol)

I think, perhaps, it would be a bit more prudent to maybe chant encouraging things instead of condescension like "You suck."
Like ba da da duh da HEY! "Almost had it buddy!"
or
"You didn't cut the angle the right way, come out the crease more King Hankie"
I think that's the more mature route. Maybe it's just me

For me it is a nostalgia trip. In college we loved this chant when the band played Rock and Roll Part 2, only it was "Sieve, you suck!" in our version, making it clear that it was directed at the opposing goalie.
I can see why it's not for everyone though.

Lets just start chanting "hey we're sorry!" after we score....we can even halt the game for a minute each time to have a nice young lady present the opposing goalie with a bouquet of flowers to show our sincere care, maybe even hold a post game tea party for the opposing goalie and guys who scored on him

This is missing the point entirely. Its not that the words are offensive. I don't care about taunting the other team. Thats fine. I just think after your team scores a goal you should be more interested in cheering for them than worrying about mocking the other team.

That loud eruption of 'yeaaahhhs' after each goal followed by the fans backing their team by letting the other team know we think they suck and by getting in their heads isn't enough support?
There have been a good number opposing players, notably Giroux and Cam Ward over the past season and a half that have commented on how The Rock is a tough place to get a win in or building to play in which should say plenty
We're also mocking our own team when you think about it. "Haha! You guys suck for giving up a goal to us!""

When we're down multiple goals then sure I agree
When it's a close game, yea said goalie does suck because he couldn't stop the puck

Um...no? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of really. When you get scored on someone usually ****ed up, whether it be the goalie or one of the players in front of him. I have no problem, after I jump out of my seat screaming YEAAAAAA!!!!, and then chanting HEY along with the song, adding in "You suck" because you do suck when you get scored on.
There is nothing disgusting about it what so ever and how you interpret me pointing at the opposing team and shouting "you suck" as insulting to the home team that I A) am paying to see, B) am a diehard fan of and C) just jumped and screamed for joy over as disgusting because in my joy, I felt like letting the other team have it during my celebration, is utterly ridiculous and laughable and the majority of the fan base seems to agree based on what I hear after we score a goal.
And in all the Devils games I've gone too and we're down multiple goals before finally scoring one, I don't hear "you suck" I hear "we suck" and say it myself. That this is actually a serious discussion is ridiculous.

I'd love that. The organization doesn't like the "you suck" chant either. Why else do you think they put "you rock" on the jumbotron after the Devils score?
