Skinner with the stick steal late and then Greenway with a couple really smart plays at the end.

Great way to finish off that game.

Now..... we need the rest of today's games to fall our way dammit.
Greenway dishing the puck down without causing an icing really hurt the Canes chances. They spent what felt like the final 30 seconds trying to get into the zone. That's a heads up play in crunch time. Maybe Adams and Granato are onto something with this kid!

Its no more inference than what Carolina has been doing all period.
That's why I noted at the end they let it go. I think that is the infuriating piece in all of it. In MOST cases it is a penalty but the fact that the refs let the other teams do the same thing and not call it. This isn't just a Sabres problem, basically any of the top teams like Boston, Tampa, Las Vegas, Toronto, Edmonton get a lot of slack.

Tell ya..... when you play for a coach that has confidence in you, your game improves.

Evanson vs Granato. I'll take Donnie.

I know he was acquired for his defense, Jam, size, etc. But he's also scored at a 25-goal pace since BUF picked him up.

Very likable guy, too.

The constant comments on the refereeing on here is really hard to read at times. Is NHL refeering great? Absolutely not - they absolutely have consistency issues and there are issues with refs being tighter with teams who've had more PP's than the other thus far during a given game (ie game management).

But the idea that there's some kind of conspiracy against Buffalo is ludicrous. Buffalo's had 40 more PP attempts than SH attempts this season. They spend on average a minute more per game on the power play than their opponent. People see every little nit picky infraction that could be called against the opposition while ignoring similar infractions their team commits.

Seriously if you want to see horrendous officiating, watch more Atlantic Hockey games (Niagara, Canisius, RIT). Now that is the bottom of the barrel officiating.

Boston's been short-handed the 3rd most times in the NHL. They just kill penalties significantly better than anyone else in the league (87.1% vs 2nd place CAR at 83.9%) so it doesn't hurt them.
