There is no one person to blame. Not everything requires finding somebody to vilify. A lot of things factored into the eventual outcome; not all in our control.

Agreed that there is never “one” person to blame but when everyone including coaches, GM’s, goalies. Supporting players have been changed multiple times expect for the core 5 over the last 7 years of failure it becomes obvious what the problem is. Individually they may be good but as a group the have been weighed, measured and found wanting

Our control. Are you a player? Read your comment, you suggest no one is responsible. Someone must be, the players are not good enough, the strategy was wrong, the moon was in the wrong phase. I do not profess to be any type of expert, today I can barely skate, but we saw last night in a real north south game, a playoff style, a few of our top players couldn't or didn't keep up, lost their dominance. It feels strangely familiar.Those same players allow our PP to flounder. IMHO, the failure lies directly on the shoulders of the players. Not all. But enough of them for us to lose, in the playoffs, each year.

No, I'm a fan, and "our control" refers to the Leafs. For example, we did not have control over losing a #1C to a kick in the head in his first shift. Same goes for losing our top pairing defenseman, and having our best player, complimentary 1st liner, top deadline addition, etc. all playing injured. We didn't have control over Price turning into Hasek for the first 3 series of that playoffs. Etc. There were of course things that were in our control too. I didn't say nobody was responsible. In a series where you lose by one shot, there are a thousand different things you could point to in hindsight that could have got a win, and everybody holds some responsibility, but there is no one person to blame. We had a great team (better than we have now). We had a good strategy (better than we have now). We outplayed them (more than we are now). We lost by one shot. It happens. Trying to play the blame game 4 years later doesn't seem like the healthiest way to manage disappointment.

The Carolina game was really nothing like a play-off game, and we've had much bigger issues than our top players recently. In fact, they and our goalies have been largely carrying us this year.

There are players who game improves in the playoffs each year, and there are players who fall off.

Not remotely as much as people like to think. Most players are pretty similar to what they are in the regular season. We see bigger discrepancies in things like production because there are bigger discrepancies in what a team faces/experiences, and we're looking at small samples.

Even you must admit, there is not one of our top players who come close to matching the desire and effort of Gilmore and Clark. Not one.

That's ridiculous. We just glorify the memory of past players, even though they didn't even win anything either.

Last night showed a sign they cannot or will not.

All last night showed was that all players and teams have off games; especially in random games in the middle of January. If it showed anything more, it was that we may have made a mistake hiring Berube.

No it doesn't. You just want there to be an easy problem that "fixes" everything, and don't seem to understand that correlation =/= causation.

Win tonight and this will be a distant memory. Can’t win em all, but man when they lose sometimes….they lose bad.

I wish they would lose nicely.

What's with the attitude? I don't like the bright/white modes but some do.

This site was almost entirely some form of white background from 1997 (original creation, pre-vBulletin) to 2017, except for a year or so circa 2002. It's understandable if some prefer white. I don't like it though.

It’s the simpleton attitude that @Fearnot has that if one doesn’t like something it’s because they don’t ‘handle change well’.
Perhaps they don’t think for themselves in the course of their day but many are capable of it.
