I mean we gave up a non prospect on the deal so its of non-consequence. But i didn’t want him but oh well.

I too didn't want him.

He doesn’t have to be a #4 pick for Carolina. He has to be a bigger Fast or Martinook to keep a job, and I think he’s capable of that.

We can hope but I personally think he is what he is, and what he is, well I'd rather go another direction.

Yes and no. The first was a deflection in the slot, not much he can do about it. Second was a great Marner shot, but maybe Kooch could have had it. Third was a bad bounce and a bad PK
The 3rd was a double bounce, he had no chance. The i ky one he really had a chance at was Marners snipe, and it was a good shot

Honestly, it's our defense letting us down. They're scoring all the goals, but leaving the forwards to play defense is awful.

I saw him do that when we played Edmonton once. Was absolutely baffling.

I don't know why Waddell wanted this guy. He doesn't have what it takes to be a guy who was drafted #4.
Carolina got him for practically nothing so it's a whole different case for them. When Puljujarvi got it going he did score at a fine rate. That was close to half of the time since he returned, but the other half (and plus) was very cold. The Oilers fans for some reason have a hard time admitting there were also good times and a full solid season. We'll see were it goes, might take a bit of time like it took to Kotkaniemi if I remember correctly.

I had no problem getting Koko. I thought he had potential to be a good player here.

I had no interest in poolparty. I'll happily eat crow if I'm wrong. But I wasn't a fan of acquiring him a year ago and my feelings haven't changed yet.

It takes most who join a few months and unfortunately, we don't have that luxury especially with the Svech injury and the time of year. Being put on the top line seems like a touch too much pressure for someone already suffering from confidence issues, jmo.

It's totally possible your instinctions are right, but even in that case there isn't much to lose. But many base their instinctions to what some loud Oilers fans have said and while I don't deny his weak points I have a hard time understanding why it was pretty much not allowed to state he also had his good times (like a season with ES goals/60 even above Drai). The off prediods are still the players fault, but it's not like he can't ever be a productive player for long stretches.

Yes it maybe happened a bit too early, although he did arrange some chances in the first games and I have a feeling that could've got his cofidence high. I think there can be a high reward, but a patient approach may be needed.
