I don’t know if I agree about that. He’s very smart with the puck and reads the play well. Everyone gets dangled, Necas turned the pick over on that play. A big part of defensive play as a forward is puck protection/decisions/management and Jarvis has been very good there and I think that’s where Necas gets himself in trouble when he does get in trouble. Not being strong on the puck and can be loose with it sometimes when he’s carrying it.

Jarvis hasn't thrown pucks to center ice from a corner or half-board scrum on blind passes. Svech and Necas combined need to clean that up.
Yup, that's a big part of what i'm talking about. When you consider how defensively sound someone is as a forward, taking care of the puck when you have it is half the battle. Jarvis to this point rarely moves a puck without intent. He takes a quick look, is sure of his target and hits the target. Hopefully that doesnt change as he gets more confident. It's the reason Rod likes him. It isnt just the skill.
