Also keep in mind that for challenges, it's not Toronto, it's the refs on the ice reviewing their own call. Would be VERY dumb to challenge given that explanation.
Yep exactly. Even if that’s not the rule what the ref said (probably is but I’m not 100% sure) he’s not gonna change his mind mid game

The only way it wouldn’t count is if they determine the slide into the net was interference. After that, Tkachuk prevented their ability to challenge. That was a caveman-brain sequence on his part.
At the end of the day, Bob also had an eternity to reset but was so distracted by Tkachuk and convinced there should be a penalty he completely quit playing.

Exactly — if Tkachuk isn’t sitting on top of Kotkaniemi, I highly doubt that goal stands because everything after the slide would be “fruit of the poisoned tree”. Tkachuk literally made the goal stand.
