Confirmed with Link: Canadiens Sign Tyler Thorpe to 3-Year ELC (2025-26) + Signs AHL PTO

Okay. Probably just a decent AHLer moving forward. Maybe he can carve out a career as a physical 4th line player.

Thorpe is this year's version of Florian Xhekaj.

After his D+1 year and one year in Junior after being drafted, as well as being eligible to turn pro because they both were turning 20, they join the pro ranks.

Like Xhekaj last year, Thorpe will be elgible to go back to junior for his overage season, but if they signed him, it's guaranteed to stay in the pros.

Good for the young man. He still has a lot of stuff to work on, but his D+1 season has been good enough to be worth developing further. I can see a scenario where he becomes a bottom 6 NHL player down the road, if everything goes right for him. It's not super likely, but he does have a shot at making it.
