Post-Game Talk: Canadiens run into a brick Woll - Lose 7-3

Not upset, nice wake-up call and adversity, you need that in a season. Habs were seriously outplayed from the 2nd even if Monty was bad. We came close so many times but got really unlucky. Playing 11 forwards really catching up with the team and that's 100% on management.

Woll was really good for the Leafs but definitely didn't steal it. He also got lucky a bunch though.

Frustrating from Monty and then MSL

Shit happens, gotta move on

Hutson a very tough night. Dvo and Gally are passengers currently. Evans puck luck has dried up. Newhook and Slaf being carried by their linematea

Someone capable of a regular forward shift is necessary. Pez is crap and they have been running 11 forward and then even more perplexing, coach continues to double down on it when down 6-3 and you play tomorrow. Inexcusable

Hope there is gas left in the tank vs the Rangers

hey guys my unsolicited, amateur observations of the night.

- Lots to build on from that first. A lot.
-took their foot off the gas and we're a very, very young team.
-Hutson -5 *see previous point
-Dvorak, Anderson (who I like this year) and Gally - a 5 million dollars line that costs 14 mill. Dvorak and Gallagher are done, cooked, finished.
-Dvorak was what? 3/15 in the circle?
-During this run, Dobes hid some of our warts...as we still cave when aggressively forechecked, and team is still learning how to win / close out games.
-Montembeault is not a no.1. imo. He's had flashes, but he's not consistent and doesn't seem to show up in big moments. 818 tonight and 4 goals in the 3rd period.
The future is not him. He's not entirely to blame, but he was beat tonight by the better goalie.
-very curious to see if they can bounce back tomorrow or this is the beginning of a little spiral. they were humbled.
see y'all demain!
Woll was the better goalie tonight. He is not better than Monty. Monty was in nets to beat all the top teams thet beat.

What's his goal saved above average stat? That save percentage is mostly dragged down by those blowouts where team left him out to dry
Goal saved above expected per 60 he is 28th in the league. He has not been one of the two most impactful player this season like the poster I replied to said.

Yeah he pretended to make 48 saves on opening night when he was the only player that showed up.
This board will never like Monty. Guy could play 10 excellent games in a row but if he lays one or two stinkers the next time, he's always a fraud that should be replaced. Primeau was supposed to overtake him and look at how that turned out.

Gotta win tomorrow to wash the bad taste out of our mouths from this…learning experience.

is Doby the second coming of St Patrick? St Jakub? Too soon?

Also a learning experience for HFHsbs, maybe don’t troll on the main boards, see what happens?
Habs fans troll less than most of the other fan bases.

For me, what sucks, is how we lost the game. When you're up by 3 goals, you need to win that game. There's no shame in losing to the Leafs, they're a good team, just not like this. Monty, definitely let in a couple of softies but even then we would have lost either way because the team got overconfident. At least we're playing tomorrow, and so we can get back on the W sooner than later.
