What about Darche? Blunden?

There's examples all over the league of guys like this.

At one point we gave Drewiske 1 way deal just to mentor guys in minors and it didn't count against cap.

Darche could totally follow the pace of a game. Geez, even Blunden could. Martinsen had nothing aside from a good 1st game.

Blunden played 52 games for the habs, made 4 points -4.

I liked Martinsen when he was on a line with McCarron. I felt they both have size and together they were good on the forecheck and had some good scoring chances. If they have a 4th line of Martinsen-McCarron-Mitchell, I can live with that.

There is no big deal, that's the problem. How many of these bums does bargainbin acquire? From Armstrong to today, just useless grinders. Warm bodies whose best feature is that they can be waived. It's bordering on absurd. We're the garburator of the league.

And even if some emerge, easy to send Martinsen down.

I like the fact he's not another soff forward, too many of them around the last few years.

It's never been our depth players who are the problem, softness wise. It's the core players who were either undersized, or too soft, or both. Martinsen's effect on them is no different from Staubitz or Parros or Scott or Blunden or Armstrong. It doesn't matter if he's the meanest SOB out there (and he isn't) - he won't make Patches or Pleks skate into traffic.
