What does getting shutout by a guy having a career night have to do with this? We had a ton of scoring chances and he stopped everything. Made some seriously incredible saves. Budaj deserves a metric ton of credit because on any other night, we put a couple of those chances in the net. Hats off to him.

Agreed. I'm still infuriated at the refs and other things but I wholly recognize he playda great game the **&*(@& )@!&*()

You don't think other teams get jobbed? Rangers got jobbed tonight, the standard of officiating in the NHL is just flat out pretty poor.

No, not like we do. We get screwed at a higher rate, I've been a fan long enough.

Look, after the Miller no goal, we deserve to have a consistent call on kicking. Maybe you lose out on a goal here and there, but we lost, in the least, two regulation ties on a terrible interpretation of ONE rule. Maybe we win in OT or the shootout, maybe we lose outright. But we lost two out of two points in consecutive games because they have zero clue on a kick.

I'm fine with then losing because they suck and it might be that time to make that change. But I'm sick of the screw job and I'm not going to ignore the league bias just so some internet people will label me an "unbiased fan". I operate on evidence, so I will say with confidence that bettman is a terrible leader, Phoenix is a bad hockey city, Montreal and Pittsburgh get calls and we get screwed.

Drury got high sticked, rachunek didn't kick it in in the same game that pommenville punched one in. Crosby slewfooted callahan in the 7 power plays to none game. Kovalev elbowed hollweg. Just off the top of my head some of the most egregious examples of bias.

The problem is that backup + MSG usually equals great game, and even more likely a shutout. Anybody remember Mike Brodeur? Richard Bachman? The list is huge. It's not a coincidence at this point, it's a trend.

The cleansing needs to start with the two headed sloth Pyatt/boyle. Amazingly Dorsett played well all by himself. Two 4th linea with two of the biggest pansies ever to wear a Ranger jersey. Remove these two idiots and replace them with inexperienced players who have shown skill at lower levels. Do it Slats. Begin the healing with teacher's pet of the past and teacher's pet of the present. Get r done!

The cleansing starts with Sat her. Anything else is building with the same Lego set. Just ask philly. Holmgren the problem or the last 100 coaches. Unless you are judging by the cups won by their draft picks.

Maybe focus your scorn on the team that is 30th in the league in goals. The Refs didn't lose that game for the Rangers, the Rangers did.

The refs didn't lose the game. But they did in a one goal game make a horrendous call that simultaneously ended a power play and a breakaway. They should not have that impact in the Habs favor and they always seem to. And F the biased ****** sitting in Toronto.

You are correct. But that's not happening. So i like to focus on the players who may actually find their way out of the lineup.

The Rangers were 0 for 5 on the power play tonight, they had plenty of chances.
Nothing is for certain, but seeing as how the Rangers are 30th in the league in goals, I think it's safe to infer that the probability of any of those chances going in was low. Good teams overcome bad calls, however many there are. A good team says "**** it", pulls up their bootstraps and gets to work.

I'm nt disagreeing with the people saying there's bias against us but why do you think that is? If it's an anti-ny thing than is there bias against the isles too?

I think it's time we give stepan the dubi treatment

Remind me again how that worked out? Oh yeah, he's got 8 points in 11 games this season. He'd be tied with Richards for first on this team with points (three points clear of the next guys). Stepan missed the entirety of training camp. On top of that, he tends to start off slow anyways. He'll come around.

While I agree with Fast to Hartford, Pyatt needs to go, too.

Ditto.

Classic Rangers loss - a) playing Montreal, b) returning home from a long road trip and c) facing the backup goaltender (not to mention d) screwed by the refs). I actually take lots of positives out of this game:

-Did anyone else notice DZ playing on the left side in the 3rd period and looking tons better (as he always does)? Assuming we're not going to trade him, we need to make that switch permanent.

-Kreider was arguably the most impactful skater on the ice for either team. I'm really, really pleased with his game. (And it isn't just since he was called up - his solid play goes back to the first game in HFD after he was demoted and has carried on right since then.)

-Miller looked pretty darn good in his own right.

-I'm seeing shades of Brassard from last year.

-Pouliot is stringing together a run of effective games.

-Zuccs had his second pretty good game in a row.

-Dorsett and Boyle both had really solid bottom-6 games.

-The defense in general was engaged and dangerous in the offensive zone.

-Perhaps most importantly, the effort and the fight were there even if the results were not.

There were negatives too (Pyatt was Pyatt-y, Richards's play is starting to slip a bit, Step is still a step behind [no pun intended], J. Moore had a couple of tough moments on the blue line), but all in all, I was encouraged by this game.

Again, they looked like a team missing three serious offensive pieces. Sound game in all areas but scoring in my opinion. I thought they had the better of the play most of the game.

Look at all the optimists that are happy about the scoring chances. They mean zilch when we have no finishers.

Isles have a suburban thing. Rangers are the metropolitan, custom suit and limo franchise. Yankees vs mets.

Frankly, I think it is a matter of recent memories clouding perception. In '94, we got the calls. But they worked hard, executed and won. So a ref, fan or commissioner will look at a 50/50 call and assume the winner was right. It's how Crosby slew foots Callahan, falls to the ice and gets a power play... Crosby on the ice, must have been fouled.

We get jobbed because we have an air of entitlement. We bought teams for nearly 20 years, had a generation of shirkers and losers. We haven't shaken that perception yet, maybe rightly so. We lose the benefit of the doubt because we used to slack, play lazy and take penalties. It's bias, not conspiracy, that makes it a kick for New York and a direction for Montreal.

He tends to start slowly and will come around.

We have had 3 top scorers out and very few others that can score. If he was a team player he would have been going all out these 10 games to help fill the void. Instead he has coasted his way to zero goals. what a disgrace!

Blame is on the officials all you guys want. It's a pathetic and temporary excuse.

We ****ing suck. They every bit deserved to lose tonight. Montreal has a ****ing horrible lineup right now and they outplayed us everywhere on the ice.

Some of these players get paid millions of dollars to churn out an absolutely awful product.

**** every single player on this team.

really? i didnt see that, I saw the Habs dominate up a man, but at even strength I thought we controlled the play by a HUGE margin. how many super high quality chances did we get? Stepan, Miller, Pouliot, Kreider, etc...the puck was on the stick of the guys you want it to be on, they just couldnt put it home.

Effort was there tonight, they played pretty well.

Habs played a trapping defensive game, and took away time and space, still, we generated a lot.

Just cant finish....having Cally, Hagelin, and Nash will help in games like these.

This team has no identity other than being completely schizophrenic at the moment. We've played 10 games so far. We've laid stinkers against PHO, ANA, SJ, NJ, and MTL in the home opener (combined for a 3-25 goal scoring ratio. 3-25). and seemingly out of the blue in the midst of these disasters, we looked dominant against LA and DET, and shut out Washington.

Of the defense, offense and goaltending, it seems either they all show up (in our random wins) or they're all off. Which is why tonight was so frustrating. I saw something today about how the Isles havent managed to string together 2 wins in a row. this team cant stop losing 2 times in a row.

This "unable to finish" trend with the rangers will probably frustrate me for the rest of my life.

Regardless of the refs - we can't score..

It seems we're snakebitten lately..

What's our stats so far?

15 goals in 10 games?

Wow...that's 1.5 goals pr game..

You gotta have a top notch world class goalie to win games with that score..

We have neither, and are becoming a joke..

Oh yeah? What about the two blown icings not called which directly led to 2 of our 3 chances tonight?

How about a team that can test a ********* backup!?!

Refs aren't the reason why they lost tonight, but if I had to pick a job, I would want to be a NHL ref. only job in sports where you're never criticized or held reliable for anything.

Only place you MAY be criticized as a NHL ref? Montreal or Toronto.. And who did we play tonight?

Exactly. This is the EXACT type of game where I make a million angry posts (I bet 50,000 of my posts came during 5 or 6 losses like this :sarcasm: ) before rage quitting. I hate when the team loses when they outplay the other team. The single worst type of loss. I'd rather them get blown out 9-0 again than lose a game like this.

pretty much agreed.

this isnt like the loss to Philly...this is the Rangers outplaying hte opposition and having **** all to show for it.

Putrid. Montreal had almost two lines out with injuries tonight and still beat the Rangers in every facet of this game. Vigneault and his worthless staff will be gone by Christmas. I's say bring up the kids, but there's nothing there, either. Miller and Fast shouldn't even be up as it is.

what the hell game were you watching? Montreal had almost ZERO even strength chances.

They scored on a PP off of a BS call...brassard has a breakaway taken away because 2 habs collide...

A goal gets kicked in and counts.

We dominated for large stretches of this game. the result of this game != the product on the ice.
