To everyone on HF who thinks that their team has had it tough, think about this:

No team besides the Canadiens or the Ducks have not had a point per game player who played almost a full season since the 2021-22 season.

The last time the Ducks had one was in 2017-18 (Getzlaf).

The last time the Habs have had one was Alexei Kovalev, in.. 2007-08.

Thank goodness we have Demidov now..

Edit:

More fun stats (thanks @Deaner)

The last 40 goal scorer for the team was Vincent Damphousse in 1993-94.

The last 100 point player was Mats Naslund in 1985-86.

The Kings haven't had a full season at a pt/gp since the 2017-18 season

Fiala had 72 in 69 but he's never been a pt/gp player and give him a full 82 he wouldn't have been either

and if you excuse Kopitar's miraculous 92pt season (2017-18) despite having nobody to play with, you have to go alllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way back to ... 2003???:help:

No team has a dried up offense more than the Kings... and they've been doing ok , all considering

Habs were worse, I guarantee you

Thank you for the info, I did in fact consider players even if they didn't play a full season (as long as it was close) for effect.

But yeah, on behalf of Habs fans we stand in solidarity with you LA fans, better times are coming!

You should probably get rid of Bergevin, though!

Habs would kill to have guys like Kopitar, Carter or Richards these last decades.

I don’t think you can overstate what Carey Price meant to this franchise. Being a goaltender of this caliber and having a player scoring over 70 points twice in a 15 years career must be extremely frustrating. As a fan it sure was. What a waste.

The Habs history is really strange, having been loaded with generational players for over 60 years nonstop (Morenz ‘24 to Lafleur ‘85) then having no real offensive star at any point in the past 40.

If you look at their franchise ranking, the only high ranked guys post-1980s are Saku Koivu and Tomas Plekanec, career highs 75 and 70 points respectively. It would be odd for any franchise, but especially the Habs are the last one you’d have expected to go through such a drought.
