Briere and Murray are scratched tonight. I really don't get the Murray scratch as of late. Is he injured?
I thought Briere played one of his better games last game. What do I know though?

Hopefully this means we're getting some line changes.

Edit: Nevermind, we looked so good last game, we just try to get worse offensively. Poor Eller.

Bourque – Plekanec – Gionta
Pacioretty – Desharnais – Gallagher
Prust – Eller – Galchenyuk
Bournival – White – Moen

Markov – Emelin
Gorges – Subban
Diaz – Bouillon

You're right he was playing well, maybe this has something to do with his injury ?

I wish he was tried at center and Desharnais on wings at some point.

expecting another boring game with two of the worst offensive teams in the nhl, carolina is ranked 27th with 58 goal score at even strenght and us 28th with 57 goal at es. seriously if this team keep struggling like that, the other half of the season will be horrible.

Even though they only played a couple shifts together, I liked the chemistry we saw there between Galchenyuk and Desharnais. I would try rolling these lines for a game and see how they work out.

Alex Galchenyuk - David Desharnais - Brendan Gallagher
Max Pacioretty - Tomas Plekanec - Rene Bourque
Michael Bournival - Lars Eller - Brian Gionta
Travis Moen - Ryan White - Brandon Prust

That first line gets slaughtered in its own end.

No, just the team's worst defenseman.

I cannot for the life of my figure out why Murray is still sitting. The last stretch of game he played in he was great, significantly better than how Emelin, Diaz, and Bouillon have been playing as of late. And Briere being sat? Maybe if you played him for more than 9 minutes a damn game he would produce more...maybe if you didn't remove him from Plek's line earlier and let them continue to produce, he would be playing much better. Just a thought.

Because Coach loves his Cube.

With Bouillon in the press box, Habs are 8-3. So yeah I don't understand it either.

I make no lineup suggestions or predictions. The Habs' success on any given night seems to be a random event. If I had been asked to predict how how they would do on their trip to Florida I would have said a loss to Lightning and a win over the Panthers. I certainly didn't anticipate a rout in Sunrise.

Point #1: It wouldn't be any worse than the current exploitation line defensively. Max is pretty bad defensively 5 on 5.

Point #2: Hope Drewiske is back soon and can play like he did in LA. He's just a reliable defenseman who makes the easy play.

Wonder if MT ever considered switching Gionta and Gallagher, so that Gio is with DD and Patch. Might help to have someone who at least tries to backcheck on that line.

DD and Gally try to backcheck.

Gionta with those two would suck. DD needs the pick to make anything happen or he's useless. And Gionta firing a bunch of wide shots instead of letting Pacioretty shoot would suck.

Also, Gionta has that whole "high and wide shot leading to a odd man rush for the other team" issue that only Plekanec can save.

The lines I would like MT to try.

MaxPac - DD - Bourque

Galchenyuk - Plekky - Gionta OR Brière

Bournival - Eller - Gallagher

Moen - White - Prust

Markov - Subban

Emelin - Gorges

Murray - Bouillon OR Diaz

More PP and less PK time for the Plekanec's line.

Pacioretty Plekanec Gionta
Galchenyuk Eller Gallagher
Bourque Desharnais Bournival
Moen White Prust

Briere / Parros

Markov Subban
Gorges Diaz
Emelin Murray

Bouillon

That's what I think we need. A small forward insulated with 2 bigger players on each line except the 4th line. Get Emelin back on the left side. Murray will play and want to play any defense spot in the lineup. Bouillon brings nothing to the table. Why keep him playing.

Lol and you thought scoring was bad enough, this would be worse. You also scratched Pacioretty for the game too?

Max is not all that bad defensively for a winger. Wingers have low responsabilities its not super hard to be ''okay'' on the wing defensively. It's the C.

And at this point, if DDW can bump Bouillon to Number 8 and alter with Murray, I'd be really happy. Might not happen/will not happen.

Watching the World Juniors is ruining my desire to watch this "clutch and grab" BS

This! Last few weeks have been brutal and NOT fun. WJC just kills my desire to watch the Habs. Missed the last two and ill skip this one as well.

Pretty much every game has since they played Boston. More often than not I feel like I've wasted my time watching the games.

Looks like im not alone. A lot of people are fed up and no, its not because we are 'bandwagoners' or bipolar. Habs are in a funk and just suck right now.
