Don't get me wrong, I'm really happy about the gold medal win. But after Vancouver 2010, I'm having a hard time getting as excited for it.
Nothing can top that feeling of winning on home ice in OT with the whole nation watching. After today's win, I went on YouTube and looked up all the highlights from 2010 from the QF's through to the Golden Goal. I'm still nostalgic for that time and while I am happy that we won, something just doesn't feel the same. Same thing with the player's reactions - 2002 was a big celebration after that blowout, 2010 was obviously a huge celebration, whereas this... meh. Even Hughson's constant gold medal talk could not possibly hope to even match the epic level of Cuthbert's call or even Cole in 02.
Anyone else?
