And that’s without Russia participating.
Canada Hockey crisis is evident.
The 4 nation gimmicky tournament is not serious.

I’m sorry that’s nothing but an ASG replacement. Nobody will ever brag of winning some 4N tournamentWell Russia wasn't beating Canada so.. why is 4 nations gimmicky but the WHC isn't?
You realize Canadians can say the same things about these tournies right?I’m sorry that’s nothing but an ASG replacement. Nobody will ever brag of winning some 4N tournament
Nah, it was pretty clear that the players in the 4N didn't treat it as an ASG. No doubt that Canada wanted to win at the World Championships, but also no comparison to which team was 'Canada's best'. No need for any Canadians now to downplay the Worlds, also no need to downplay the intensity of play we all saw at 4N.I’m sorry that’s nothing but an ASG replacement. Nobody will ever brag of winning some 4N tournament
It wasn’t best on best though, Russia didn’t playAlso laughable to suggest 4 nations hockey is a gimmick and imply WHC is to be taken seriously. I live in Canada surrounded by hockey fanatics and can’t remember the last time I chatted up one of my buddies about the WHC.
This 4N tournament had us all scared shitless of the states and it was a huge prideful thing because it was best on best.
A lot of teams didn’t, closest we’ve gotten in a long time though. It wasn’t best on best though, Russia didn’t play
Didn’t lose to Denmark budhow'd Russia do in their beer league division?
Does Denmark play in the beer league division?Didn’t lose to Denmark bud

Good for Denmark, it’s a big moment for them, hopefully they can build more arenas. But when best on best roles around (yes I’m aware Russia wasn’t at the four nations but the USA is still probably the second best team over Russia at the moment), Canada still remains the best country as was proved in February.Canada Hockey crisis is evident.
Yeah they do, called WHCDoes Denmark play in the beer league division?
How ya gonna hate from outside of the club, you can't get in?Yeah they do, called WHC
Yup. I always comment on NHL fans letting us know how it works. If you and your friends only talk about the NHL, are you NHL fans or hockey fans?
I talk to my friends about the NHL, WHL, Memorial Cup, IIHF events, NCAA, AHL, Champions League, heck me and my buddy were just watching some prep hockey championship (shoutout to MS Films).
Any time someone looks down on the value of a tournment simply because it's not "best-on-best", I get the feeling they only care about the NHL, and not the game itself.
When you recognize the tournment for what it is, a bunch of guys forgoing summer holiday's to play for country pride, it adds a lot more meaning/significance to it (at least in my eyes).
I’m definitely not as good as a hockey fan as you. But it’s not just the NHL. I’ll follow prospects in other leagues, world juniors in particular is for me on par or above the NHL some years. But I have a problem with calling the 4 Nations a gimmick when it was seriously some of the most intense hockey I’ve watched. I’ll admit I haven’t watched the WHC in years. If you and your friends only talk about the NHL, are you NHL fans or hockey fans?
