Team Canada's won 1 period in the last 9. 3 goals against one pulled goalie, and zero goals against 3 others. meanwhile, Russia's popped in 15 during that same time. maybe canada can do what they haven't for 8 out of 9 periods . . . and maybe pigs will fly.
I would go as far as waiting for pigs to fly to say that Canada could beat the Russians. I hope that because it's Russia that will bring out the best in the Canadians, however I have to agree in the last three games I really haven't seen a team the has looked dangerous at all. The last game with the Czechs was awful with a total of 15 shots for. Hell even the goals the scored were not real scoring chances. Hopefully the win was good enough to bring back the confidence and desire to play hard.
Seriously if Canada tries to play "physically" they will just take stupid penalties and give Russia free goals on the powerplay.
Canada has to review their loss to Switzerland on tape, and try to copy their gameplan. Let the russians play pretty and break their neck with ccounter attacks.
If Canada plays an open game agains Russia, it will be a fun game to watch with lots of scoring chances and Russia will winn because their more precise and capitalize more on their scoring chances.
So either Canada starts to play with brains or the will go down with flying flags.
Also there is the risk of this team falling appart if the russians humiliate them, which can easily happen. They have so many dangerous scorers, if canada isn't wide awake from the first minute on then its 3:0 before the game even started.
