I'm not looking forward to facing this American team next year. Most of their best players are coming back. Perhaps Cooley might be in the NHL. They're already a force and they're going to be a better force in a years time.

Bob broke down the first goal that called back - the puck left the paint but the US player was still standing in the crease with his butt in the goalie's face, and reintroduced the puck to the crease. No goal according to the IIHF rulebook.

The second goal isn't really up for debate, it's a straight-up spear.

Like it or not, both were called according to the IIHF rulebook.
true and that is the beauty of international hockey...for the most part the officials call the rules as they are in the book.

that is wildly different than the NHL...

Canada is winning because Milac has been unreal and they have been opportunistic in the offensive zone- really USA’s only weakness this game is they have been terrible defensively.
I do think Canada have been better in most departments. Bedard is better than Cooley. Their goalie was better today. They have a talented and intense grinder in Roy, the US don't have anything remotely close to him.
Canada are winning because they were better. Slovakia gave a better and tougher game than the US in the end.
I won't be surprised if Sweden beats the US in the bronze game either, making that one group a lot tougher from the beginning.

My favorite thing about this tournament is seeing people watch one game having never seen any of these players before and making blanket statements about their ability and projection.

Joshua Roy isn’t going to be a top player in the NHL. I’m sorry to break the news.

Someone is salty, let me guess, you are American ?
