Well frustrating to watch if you’re a CAN fan. First game in a couple years I paid to watch and I loved the intensity but sweet Jesus wtf was that!?

I know they are kids but those penalties were all deserved and plain stupid. Plus nobody can hit the net. CAN had plenty of good looks but everyone is so……unclutch. Even when they were around the net you knew they were gonna f**k it up. Just odd watching these top prospects dipsy doodle too the net and then turn to some Junior C player around the net.

US has the better forwards and defense. Canada has the better goaltender. Thought it could go either way and once Canada tied it up they could have won if they stopped giving the officials a chance to call penalties.,

Lol USA has one of the favorites for tournament MVP in net. Canada’s not better at any position.

Canada has penalty troubles literally every WJC tournament. Some years their talent overcomes it, some years it doesn’t.

Not every tournament. We had a run several years ago where we were one of the least penalized teams in the tournament for several years running. Not a coincidence that we also had a run of gold medals in that same time frame. Back when the Program of Excellence was still fresh and new.

Canada's mistake was not respecting the American power play. Even 5 on 5 Canada has issues scoring. Unless they can find a way to start producing it might be a short tourney. Team Canada always preaches discipline because special teams make a difference. Cameron said the players know this.

Seemed clear a strategy used by US was baiting Canada into penalties. It worked out well. I expected US to win more by through talent vs through Canada's reckless mistakes.

I have to say that every time people start mentioning Canada's B, C, D, E, Z etc teams, it's a sign Canada has lost a game or a tournament...

Of course but you never hear us US fans ring up the Hlinka US "B" Team beating Canada's Hlinka "A" Team in what 2019? Of course Canada couldn't allow that and all time cheated to "win" the game by making it to 60:01...lol.

You can go back even to 1980 Miracle On Ice when a Hybrid United States A\B NCAA age All-Star Team beat USSR and Czechoslovakia on way to Gold. That 1980 US Team was missing as many as 9 peer players in Steve Baker, Rod Langway, Gordie Roberts, Rich Dunn, Joe Mullen, Tom Gorence, Ralph Cox, Chris Nilan and Mike McDougal.

That is the ultimate victory in Team A or Team B history of hockey. Nothing Canadians can come up with tops that...lol.

He did seemed to be getting chirped a lot all night (likely about how he would not be there without Cameron) and does not seem to handle it well from his reactions. He's not having enough impact to be an undisciplined reliability, which can be said of a lot of players.

They have a lot of fixable issues. But they seem to have a coach who can't/won't bother with even trying to fix them. The Americans were not dominate in that game in anyway what so ever....Canada played like a bunch of morons and handed the game to them.

Outside of the frustration over lack of discipline and despite the loss, for sure the biggest takeaway was that this team can hang with anyone 5on5. The tournament actually seems more winnable today than it did 24 hours ago. It's fairly wide open at this point

Well, anything can happen.

I don’t necessarily like to assess a game on shots or possession because I do think that score effects are a real thing.

The team that is behind tends to push harder than the team that is ahead.

Augustine was solid but I don’t think he had to be spectacular to win this game.
