Well, it's the 4th game in a row people are blaming Cowan despite the first 3 games him not being on the ice for any goals nor taking any penalties.

Today he took 1 penalty, as opposed to Dickinson, Pinelli and Rehokopf's 2 penalties this game. So yes, seems pretty clear there's a bias somewhere. Wonder what it is. :sarcasm:

I can't speak for other people. Not "blaming" him for the other games, but he sure had a big hand in helping to cost them this one, and based on how hyped up he's been by some Leafs fans - he's been underwhelming to me.

If I have bias - I'm cheering for Canada and would love for him to step up and play better.

Some random thoughts as a Canadian fan.

Refs were fine. Canadian penalties were brain dead. The team isn't even playing physically, they are playing dumb. 4 penalties were egregious. That's on coaching IMO.

Canada can't generate offense. If you can't generate offense you sure as heck can't play shorthanded for 16 mins or whatever it was.

Players looked completely disjointed 6 on 5. That's coaching.

I can't speak to roster selection as I don't watch enough CHL hockey, but I was shocked Yakemchuk didn't make it after watching him tear up the NHL pre-season. I figured they had some dynamic d-men, but doesn't seem to be the case. I've seen Bonk for years and he's fine, but not dynamic.

Luca Pinelli, love him on the 67s. But kind of surprised he's featuring for Canada as he's got good hands and hockey sense, but he's also pretty slow for a small guy and not all that dynamic. Why do you want him for a best on best tournament?

Canada needs more dynamic players on the ice. If they exist and didn't pick them, that decision is looking real bad.

I was never impressed with Cameron as Sens coach. Not impressed with him in this tournament either. He's obviously a capable coach, but he's the best option out there? Hard to fathom.

I wont' lie. I dont' know what Cameron is doing.lol
neither does he lol. How Cowan and Ritchie are still on the same line is probably tops amongst the awful decisions by him. Also he has neutered all the offense from the dmen who never jumped up until the end. Molendyk, Price and Dickenson have never showed this little puck skill in their lives

On another note the Hagens fan boys are going to have to defend him hard after him doing absolutely nothing vs Finland and now Canada

Yes, but expecting Cowan to be the best player on a team with McKenna were unrealistic expectation in the first place.

Most GM's in this league won't trade their top prospects on Team Canada for Cowen.

You basically beat a group of mentally challenged, low IQ children, who should probably keep wearing their helmets off the ice. Not sure what there is to be so proud of. USA is a good team and has a solid chance at gold, but I'd hold off on the celebrations until you beat an actual hockey team.
With fans like you who needs enemies? Yeeesh.

What a dumb question. You are really clinging to try to defend this kid from the evils of being called underwhelming. Obviously that's based upon hype from others and not the player himself.

He has been, as has the rest of Canada. So why is he being singled out? Exclusively him. Mostly by fans of other Canadian teams.

The US didn't play great. Did enough to win. Canada however killed themselves time and again on idiotic penalties. The shots weren't indicative of the actual game. This is one of the least talented Canadian teams I have seen. Worker bee group. They always finds ways to be there in the end but hard road to go. US has to be better at hitting the fuxking net. At least a dozen plus shots missed the goal. Can't happen in quarters

I am not a fan of this rendition of team Canada. I am actively cheering against them. They are a complete abomination on the ice. Painful to watch and impossible to root for. Heads need to roll at Hockey Canada for this shameful roster and embarrassing coaching. I'll happily cheer for whatever leads to that outcome.
