Finn's essentially have 5 NHL D that play 20 ore more a night. 2 are out. That's gotta hurt a small nation! I've really enjoyed Mikkola to be honest. Expect Lindell to play 25 tonight.
Super disappointing for the Finns to be missing Heiskanen and Risto whos having a renaissance season. They're D group played really well against Sweden though.

Not sure about Stone with 97. But gotta try something new. I would have elevated Marchand playing back in Boston. Like the Mac line. Expect a big game from them

Finn's always come together and play great. Really curious if they got a nail biter ready for this afternoon. Score early on Binnington and it gets a bit interesting.

Yeah I love the way the Finns play on international stages. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts is a good way to describe their squads. Should be a great game

At this point in time it seems Cooper is bent on having Crosby and Mackinnon on the same line. Perhaps he should just get the Nova Scotia line together then and be done with it and see what happens.

Reinhart-McDavid-Stone/Konecny
Crosby-Mackinnon-Marchand
Hagel-Point-Marner
Jarvis-Bennet-Stone/Konecny

On the scoresheet yes. When arguing over who has been better, no.
Let's be honest, neither of them have been that good. McDavid was pretty invisible outside of that individual effort vs the US. He also had a good first period vs the Swedes, but after that it was pretty quiet.

Bieksa read out the line rushes as follows:

Stone McDavid Point
Crosby MacKinnon Reinhart
Hagel Cirelli Marner
Marchand Bennett Konecny

Better than last game, but I still really don't understand why Crosby isn't playing centre

Like seeing Konecny in the lineup. Seemed a bit worn (possibly injured?) in the Flyers last few games before the break. Could be a difference maker if he is on his game.

I expect a close game, Canada winning 3-2 or 4-3 or a 3-1 with an empty netter or the like. I think our chances of an upset would be better if Canada would have beaten the US, now they are that much more awake and have everything to play for..

I don’t think mcdavid has that upper level yet. Maybe he shows it but I am not convinced

He was their best d-man last game and Harley-Doughty dominated

There is 0 reason to go away from that, take Sanheim out

With this and committing to Binnington, seems like Cooper is doing his best job to make things more difficult. At least he finally moved Point up.
