He wasn't very good in his first game, but Lankinen did nothing to inspire any kind of confidence that he should get this game.

The win the other day had nothing to do with him whatsoever.

Honestly, EVERY goal on Lankinen in this game has been poor. The rebound on the last goal stunk.

And I would say at least 2 of the 3 goals he allowed against Sweden were HORRIBLE. Gustavsson and Ullmark somehow combined for weaker goals. The quality of goals in that entire game were just so weak.

They're already throwing in the towel on this game by not making a goalie change.
It’s odd that the coach thought they had a better chance against Canada with Lankinen

Saros has looked pretty good so far in relief, could be 2-0 instead of 4

Binnington is stopping the puck but keeps shooting out rebounds. Every save seems to be a scramble. He needs to freeze the puck if he wants to inspire confidence.

I honestly think every goal on Lankinen ranged from meh to horrible.

Should it really be 0-0? Probably not.

But yeah, 1-0 or 2-0 with a competent goaltending performance. Lankinen did not give them a competent goaltending performance. I would argue he didn't even give them a competent performance on Saturday against Sweden.

Canada is in full control but I still don’t love their cycle game. It’s better in this one but they’re also playing a very weak blueline.

Possibly too late to do anything now given the roster selections but it’s a worry going up against the US blueline again (assuming they close this one out).

I don't think that Finland can maintain the pace for full periods but I do think they should start this period strongly and give some push. As for Binnington so far he has been solid. More scrambly than I'd like, but that is never going to change. To this point the game on paper looks like exactly what Canada would want.
